Early-life:
Born Jennifer Leigh Morrow in Hollywood, California, on February 5, 1962. She is the daughter of actor Vic Morrow and screenwriter Barbara Turner. Her parents divorced when she was two. Jennifer's first film was a non-speaking role at the age of nine in Death of a Stranger (The Execution) in 1973. She attended Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Center in New York.
Career:
After landing a role in Disney TV movie The Young Runaways (1978), several TV movies followed before she made her big-screen debut in the slasher film Eyes of a Stranger (1981). Her big break came in high school comedy Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982). She went on to star in The Hitcher (1986), Last Exit to Brooklyn (1989), Backdraft (1991), Single White Female (1992), Dolores Claiborne (1995), Georgia (1995), Mrs Parker and the Vicious Circle (1994), and eXistenZ (1999). More recently, Leigh has starred in Road to Perdition (2002), In the Cut (2003), The Machinist (2004), and Synecdoche, New York (2008). On the small screen, she has played roles in Weeds, and Revenge. On the stage she has appeared in Cabaret, Proof, and Abigail's Party.
