Early-life:
Colin Andrew Firth was born on September 10, 1960 in Hampshire. His parents, Shirley and David, were both lecturers. He has a sister, Kate, and younger brother Jonathan, who both followed him into the acting profession. He spent some of his childhood in America and Nigeria, where his father taught, before the family moved back to the UK. He studied acting in London. One of his early successes was in the 1983 stage adaptation of Another Country, and he subsequently made his big-screen debut in the film version a year later.
Career:
Firth worked steadily throughout the 1980s in notable projects such as Falklands drama Tumbledown, A Month in the Country (opposite Kenneth Branagh) and the period offering Valmont. But it was the 1995 costume drama Pride and Prejudice that made him a superstar. Since then, he's notched up roles in several successful films, including The English Patient, Fever Pitch, Shakespeare in Love, The Importance of Being Earnest, Girl with a Pearl Earring, Love Actually, both Bridget Jones movies, both St Trinian's films, The Accidental Husband, Mamma Mia! and A Single Man. It was 2010 movie The King's Speech that really consolidated his reputation. It garnered a number of glittering awards and Firth's Bafta Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role was consolidated by an Academy Award for Best Actor. Films since include Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and Magic in the Moonlight.

Trivia:
Firth pulled out of providing the voice of Paddington in the big-screen version of Michael Bond's books. He was replaced by Ben Whishaw.

Antonia Collette was born on November 1, 1972, in Sydney, Australia, the first of three children to truck driver Bob and his wife Judy, a customer service representative. After leaving school at 16, she enrolled in the National Institute of Dramatic Arts, and supported herself by delivering pizzas. After studying for 18 months, she left to star in the Russell Crowe movie Spotswood. She was nominated for the Australian Film Institute plaudit of Best Supporting Actress.
Career:
In 1994, Collette landed the lead role in Muriel's Wedding, gaining 40 lbs for the part. She made her Hollywood debut in hit-and-miss 1995 comedy The Pallbearer. However, her Oscar-nominated role in The Sixth Sense really put her on the map in Tinseltown. Toni has also appeared in Shaft, About a Boy and won critical acclaim for her work in 2006 comedy drama Little Miss Sunshine. Later projects include Tsunami: The Aftermath, The Black Balloon, and Hey, Hey, It's Esther Blueburger. Between 2009 and 2011 she starred in the American comedy drama United States of Tara in a role that saw her win an Emmy and Golden Globe. Away from acting, she also plays in her band Toni Collette and the Finish.

Michael was born in Long Beach, California, on July 5, 1968 to Susan and Mort. He trained to be an actor at the Julliard School in New York, the University of California in Los Angeles, the Vilnius Conservatory in Lithuania, the British American Drama Academy at Oxford and the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain at the University of London.
Career:
Stuhlbarg had been a professional stage actor for 10 years before he made his first screen appearance in A Price Above Rubies (1998). He made a number of guest appearances on TV shows after that but he didn't become a well-known actor until he starred in A Serious Man (2009). Since then, he has appeared in a number of high-profile movies, including Hugo (2011), Men in Black 3 (2012), Seven Psychopaths (2012), Lincoln (2012), and Blue Jasmine (2012). Between 2010 and 2013, he played Arnold Rothstein in HBO drama Boardwalk Empire.

Dane William DeHaan was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on February 6, 1986 to Jeff and Cynthia. He has an older sister, Meghann. He developed his interest in acting in community theatre and went on to attend the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. His first taste of professional acting was playing Haley Joel Osment's understudy on Broadway in a short-lived revival of David Mamet's American Buffalo.
Career:
In 2008, DeHann made his TV debut with a guest appearance in Law & Order Special Victims Unit. His film debut came in John Sayles' Amigo (2010). His TV credits include recurring roles in True Blood and In Treatment.

Early-life:
Born March 9, 1964, in Paris. She has Polish, Flemish, Brazilian and Moroccan ancestry. Her father is a sculptor, actor and director, her mother a teacher, director and actress. Following their divorce, she and her sister Marion were sent to boarding school. She first acted in amateur stage productions, and began appearing professionally while still studying at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts of Paris, initially in the theatre.
Career:
Binoche's first film was Liberty Belle in 1983. She then decided to concentrate on the cinema rather than the stage, and quickly became a major star in France. Her first English-speaking role came three years later in An Unbearable Lightness of Being. Despite offers of work, she turned her back on an international career to return home. She's continued to appear in both international and French projects. Among the highlights are The English Patient (for which she won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar), Hidden, Three Colours: Blue, Chocolat, Breaking and Entering and Dan in Real Life.
