Early-life:
Cal was born in Govan, Glasgow, on November 24, 1963. He discovered acting at Glasgow University after a knee injury ruined his chances of playing professional football. After a brief spell at Bristol Old Vic drama school, Cal was cast in a number of small roles at Glasgow's Citizen Theatre.
Career:
After moving to London, MacAninch spent a year working in telesales jobs between auditions until he was cast in Edinburgh-set legal drama The Advocates. After making a number of guest appearances on TV shows, he landed recurring roles in Rockface, Sorted, HolbyBlue and Wild at Heart. More recently, he has starred in Downton Abbey, Silent Witness and Mr Selfridge.

Early-life:
Born February 14, 1969, in Lichfield, Staffordshire. She has a sister called Kate. Parents June and Bill were both teachers. Helen dreamed of becoming a ballet dancer when young and attended The Elmhurst Ballet School in Surrey, but realised she would never reach the required standard. As a result, she put her back-up plan - to become an actress - into action, landing a place on the Bristol Old Vic's training scheme.
Career:
Baxendale joined Glasgow's Citizens' Theatre and landed parts on TV in The Marshall, Casualty, and short film The Euphoric Scale. In 1994, she won the plum role of Claire Maitland in Cardiac Arrest which made her name. Two years later she was particularly busy, starring in Truth or Dare, In Suspicious Circumstances, Crossing the Floor and Cold Feet. The latter became a major success. She's also appeared in The Investigator, An Unsuitable Job for a Woman, Ordinary Decent Criminal, Adrian Mole: The Cappuccino Years, and played Ross's girlfriend in Friends.

Early-life:
Catherine McCormack was born on January 1, 1972, in Alton, Hampshire. Her father is Irish, her mother, who came from Yorkshire, died when McCormack was six. After leaving school, she trained at the Oxford School of Drama, where she appeared in productions of The Cherry Orchard, Arabian Nights, and Betrayal. Her first major role was in a play called Mother, playing a 60-year-old when she was just 16. She later moved to London to further her career.
Career:
McCormack made her film debut in little-seen Australian movie Loaded in 1994, the same year she appeared on TV for the first time in Wycliffe. Her performance in Braveheart looked set to make her a star, but instead of heading for Hollywood, she preferred to stay in Europe to make Deacon Brodie, The Land Girls, Dancing at Lughnasa, This Year's Love, and Love in the 21st Century. She has also starred in Shadow of the Vampire, Born Romantic, The Tailor of Panama and Spy Game. In 2004 she returned to TV with Gunpowder, Treason and Plot and in 2007 she appeared in horror sequel 28 Days Later.
