Nathan Fillion (Actor) .. Richard Castle

Best Known For: Playing writer-cum-makeshift-detective Richard Castle
Early-life: Born Nathan Christopher Fillion in Alberta, Canada, on March 27, 1971. Fillion has an older brother called Jeff. Their parents were English teachers, and originally, Nathan wanted to follow their footsteps into education by becoming a drama teacher. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic High School and later University of Alberta. He is descended from Confederate American Civil War general Jubal Early.
Career: After stints in various theatre, TV and film productions, Fillion moved to New York where he starred in soap opera One Life To Live, for which he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award. Other early roles came in Saving Private Ryan, Two Guys and a Girl, and Dracula 2000. He eventually landed the starring role as Captain Malcolm Reynolds in Firefly (which he now says was the best acting job he's ever had). He has leant his voice to various animated series and computer games including King of the Hill and Halo 3, but his most successful role to date has been eponymous mystery novelist Castle. Other projects include Desperate Housewives, Waitress, Monsters University and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.

Stana Katic (Actor) .. Det Kate Beckett
Born: April 26, 1978 in Hamilton, Ontario
Best Known For: Castle.
Early-life: Stana was born in Hamilton, Ontario, on April 26, 1978 to Petar and Rada. She has four brothers and one sister. Her parents had emigrated from Coatia. She later moved with her family to Aurora, Illinois. Stana studied at the University of Toronto and the DePaul University Goodman School of Drama in Chicago.
Career: Katic had guest roles in a number of well-known TV series in the early part of her career, including Alias, Dragnet, The Shield, ER, 24, Heroes and CSI: Miami. She has also starred on the big screen in The Spirit (2008) and Quantum of Solace (2008). Her big break came in 2008 when she was cast as Kate Beckett in crime drama Castle alongside Nathan Fillion.

Trivia: In 2010, Katic started a global initiative called The Alternative Travel Project to encourage everyone to go car-free for just one day.

Best Known For: Unforgiven and Titanic.
Early-life: Born May 11, 1952, in Millford-on-the-Sea. Her father was a construction engineer who travelled the world with his job, which meant Fisher lived in such far-flung places as Canada, Italy, France and Brazil before settling in Texas, in 1964 where she finished her schooling. A keen actress from an early age, she eventually moved to New York to study with acclaimed teachers Stella Adler and Lee Strasbourg after her divorce in 1972.
Career: Fisher's first professional roles came on the stage. In 1976 she made her TV debut in The Edge of the Night, and stayed with the long-running series for 1981. She also had a spell in soap opera Guiding Light before appearing in her first movie, Heart, in 1997. The films Pink Cadillac, Patty Hearst, and LA Story followed. She also played Lucille Ball in biopic Lucy and Desi: Before the Laughter. Unforgiven was a massive critical and commercial success in 1992, and introduced her to a new set of fans. Since then she's appeared in Titanic, The Lyon's Den, House of Sand and Fog, and Laws of Attraction.
