Michael McIntyre (Contributor)
Born: February 21, 1976 in London
Best Known For: Coming from obscurity to being the biggest name in comedy seemingly overnight
Early-life: Born in 1976, in South London to a dancer and comedy writer Ray Cameron, McIntyre had a thoroughly middle-class upbringing that he describes as being entirely short of misery or material. He did his first open mic spot in 2001 having dropped out of a biology degree at Edinburgh University.
Career: Hailed as the best new stand-up to emerge in a decade, Michael has taken the comedy world by storm. He delivered electrifying sets on both We Are Not Amused (Prince Charles's 60th birthday celebrations on ITV1) and the Royal Variety Performance (BBC One), plus a stand-out performance as host on the first episode of BBC One's Live at the Apollo, leading to the Comedy Roadshow vehicle.
Quote: "Don't Man City and Man United sound a bit like gay clubs? 'Where you off to tonight? Man City? We're off to Man United. And a bit later we're off to the MEN Arena.'"
Trivia: His debut DVD release, Michael McIntyre Live & Laughing, became the fastest selling debut stand-up DVD of all time, selling more than 600,000 copies.
Jonathan Ross (Contributor)
Best Known For: His cheeky celebrity interviews.
Early-life: Jonathan Stephen Ross was born on November 17, 1960, in Camden, London. He is one of six children born to a lorry driver and his film extra wife (Martha Ross had a bit part in EastEnders for over 20 years). Jonathan appeared in TV ads as a child, but after completing a degree in modern European history at the University of London, he began his TV career as a researcher on such shows as Loose Talk and Soul Train.
Career: In 1987, Ross and his friend Alan Marke devised a format inspired by Late Night with David Letterman, and after struggling to find a suitable host, Ross stepped in. The resulting show, The Last Resort with Jonathan Ross, made him a star. Other major projects include his chat shows Friday Night with Jonathan Ross and The Jonathan Ross Show, and his stint as the reviewer of the BBC's Film programme. He's also a massive comic book fan; his first foray into the genre, Turf, was published in 2010. But he's also hit the headlines for various controversies over the years, including the notorious Sachsgate, which involved a prank call made by him and Russell Brand to actor Andrew Sachs in 2008.
Quote: "People like coming on my show because they know they'll have fun and they know I'm going to be respectful to them. I'm never, you know, mean-spirited."
Trivia: He's been married to screenwriter and author Jane Goldman since 1988. They have three children.
Eamonn Holmes (Contributor)
Born: December 03, 1959 in Belfast
Best Known For: His time as a host on GMTV
Early-life: Born December 3, 1959, in Belfast. Career: After attending St Malachy's College in Northern Ireland, his first job was on a building magazine. He got his break at 21 on an Ulster news programme - as the youngest-ever anchorman. BBC One phone-in show Open Air followed in 1986, and from there he moved to GMTV, where he spent 12 years. He now hosts Sky News's Sunrise four days a week, and presents This Morning with his wife Ruth Langsford on Fridays; they also co-present the game show Gift Wrapped. Has also hosted the National Lottery, The Feelgood Factor, Sporting Greats, Pass the Buck, Hard Spell and Sudo-Q, as well as numerous sports-related shows.
