Early-life:
Kimberley Gail Marsh was born in Whiston, Merseyside, on June 13, 1976 and raised in Garswood, St Helens. In 2000, Kym auditioned for the ITV talent show Popstars and she became one of the five singers chosen for the manufactured group Hear'Say, along with Danny Foster, Myleene Klass, Suzanne Shaw and Noel Sullivan. Their first single, Pure and Simple, topped the UK singles chart in March 2001. A year later, she left the group.
Career:
Marsh signed a solo record deal but her debut album performed badly and she was dropped by her label. In 2005, she made her acting debut in an edition of Doctors. A year later, she joined the cast of Coronation Street, playing Michelle Connor, a role she continues to play. In 2010, she was a participant on Popstar to Operastar - she was voted out in the fifth week. She has been a guest on celebrity editions of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, Catchphrase, The Cube and The Chase.
