Early-life:
Sherry Lea Stringfield was born in Colorado Springs, USA, on June 24, 1967, the oldest of three children. The family later relocated to Texas. In high school, she was a star athlete, until her drama teacher persuaded her to appear in a musical. Instantly hooked on the profession, she later attended the Acting Conservatory at Purchase College, State University of New York, graduating in 1989.
Career:
While at drama school, Stringfield appeared in various off-Broadway productions. She also worked in theatre box offices to make ends meet before landing a regular role in soap The Guiding Light. She quit after three years to go travelling and returned to the US in 1993 where she landed a part in NYPD Blue. A year later, Stringfield moved onto ER, but left in 1996. Roles in movies 54, Bunzy's Last Call, Autumn in New York, and Viva Las Nowhere followed. She returned to ER in 2001. Since then, she has appeared in Shark, Tell Me You Love Me, and Under the Dome..
