Early-life:
Born in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, on August 19, 1950, Jennie was schooled at Letchworth's St Francis' College and went on to read French and European literature at the University of Warwick. Her first job in journalism was as a reporter on the Richmond Herald, and she later moved to the Uxbridge Evening Mail. In 1977, she joined BBC Radio, and had various roles in programmes such as Woman's Hour and Tuesday Call, including sub-editor and producer.
Career:
In 1985, Bond became a BBC radio reporter, and three years later moved to TV. In 1989, she was appointed as the organisation's royal correspondent, a role she held for 14 years. During that time, she reported on some of the most turbulent times for the Queen and her family, including the breakdown of the Prince and Princess of Wales' marriage, Diana's death in 1997 and the Golden Jubilee celebrations. Since leaving the Beeb in 2003, Bond has been a runner-up on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and fronted shows including Cash In the Attic, Jennie Bond's Royals and Great British Menu.
