Jack Nicholson (Actor) .. Melvin Udall
Born: April 22, 1937 in New York
Best Known For: Being one of the greatest actors of all time.
Early-life: Born John Joseph Nicholson on April 22, 1937, in New York. He never knew his biological father and was raised believing his grandparents were his parents and his mother was his older sister; he didn't discover the truth until a journalist told him in 1974. As a teenager he was recognised as the class clown, and eventually moved to Hollywood, where he made ends meet as a gofer for animation giants William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. They offered him a job as an animator, but he turned it down to concentrate on acting.
Career: Nicholson made his film debut in low-budget drama The Cry Baby Killer in 1958, which began his long association with Roger Corman; Nicholson wrote, directed and appeared in several movies for the legendary film-maker. His breakthrough came in 1969 when he was cast in Easy Rider - it earned him the first of many Oscar nominations. Nicholson went on to receive Oscar nods for Five Easy Pieces, The Last Detail and Chinatown, before winning for One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest. He would also go on to pick up statuettes for Terms of Endearment in 1984 and As Good as It Gets in 1998. Other notable movies include The Shining, Prizzi's Honor, Batman and About Schmidt.
Quote: 'Star quality is if you're on stage and a cat walks on and they still watch you.'
Trivia: Away from showbiz, he's a keen art collector - his collection is said to be worth more than $100million.
Helen Hunt (Actor) .. Carol Connelly
Born: June 15, 1963 in Culver City, California
Best Known For: Mad About You and a string of Hollywood films.
Early-life: Helen Elizabeth Hunt was born in Culver City, California, on June 15, 1963, to Jane and Gordon. When she was three, her family moved to New York, where her father worked as a theatre director. As a child actress in the 1970s, Helen appeared on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bionic Woman and The Swiss Family Robinson.
Career: During the 1980s, Hunt starred in one season of sitcom It Takes Two, popped up in an episode of Highway to Heaven and had a recurring role in medical drama St Elsewhere. After playing the lead role in short-lived drama My Life and Times, Hunt's big break came in 1992 when she co-starred with Paul Reiser in hugely popular sitcom Mad About You. It ran until 1999 and during that time, she won four Emmy Awards and directed several episodes, including the series finale. In 1998, she won an Academy Award for her role in As Good as It Gets (1997). Films since then have included Cast Away (2000), What Women Want (2000), Bobby (2006) and The Sessions (2012).
Quote: 'I'm not very sexy or glamorous! I have this girl next door kind of look and I have to do the best I can with that.'
Trivia: Hunt won her second Academy Award nomination for The Sessions.

Cuba Gooding Jr (Actor) .. Frank Sachs
Born: January 02, 1968 in The Bronx, New York
Best Known For: His Oscar-winning performance in Jerry Maguire.
Early-life: Cuba M Gooding Jr was born on January 2, 1968, in The Bronx, New York, the son of singers Shirley and Cuba Sr. He has two brothers, vocalist Tommy and fellow actor Omar. Gooding's father moved the family to Los Angeles in 1972, but left them shortly afterwards, and the children were raised by their mother alone. Gooding Jr got his first professional break as a dancer, and performed with Lionel Richie at the closing ceremony of the 1984 Olympic Games.
Career: Bitten by the acting bug, Gooding Jr landed roles on TV shows such as Hill Street Blues and MacGyver in the late 1980s. In 1991, he landed a part in the film Boyz n the Hood, and it launched him on the road to stardom. Small but important roles in the likes of A Few Good Men and Lightning Jack led to bigger parts in Outbreak and Losing Isaiah. However, it was the 1996 smash Jerry Maguire, which saw him win a Best Supporting Actor Oscar, that really put him on the map. Since then, his career has been patchy, with movies such as Pearl Harbor and Rat Race alongside meatier fare such as As Good As It Gets and American Gangster. He continues to be an in-demand actor.
Quote: 'I have never made a decision based on race and never will. I am admiring of my fellow peers, black film-makers and black actors and actresses. When Halle and Denzel won Oscars, I felt pride because I was black, but never did I analyse their win based on colour.'
Trivia: In 2013, Gooding Jr made his Broadway debut in The Trip to Bountiful.
Skeet Ulrich (Actor) .. Vincent
Born: January 20, 1970 in Lynchburg, Virginia
Best Known For: Playing Billy Loomis in Scream.
Early-life: Ulrich was born Bryan Ray Trout in Lynchburg, Virginia, in 1970 and was raised in Concord, North Carolina. The nickname 'Skeet' originated from the nickname 'Skeeter' he was given by his Little League coach because of his small stature. Along with his slight frame he had poor health, including numerous bouts of pneumonia, and underwent open heart surgery at the age of 10. Ulrich graduated from Northwest Cabarrus High School, where he was a soccer standout. After initially enrolling at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington to study Marine Biology, he switched to New York University, and was subsequently noticed by playwright David Mamet.
Career: In his earliest screen appearances, Ulrich was an uncredited extra in films Weekend at Bernie's and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. After joining the Atlantic Theater Company as an apprentice, he performed with the group, which got him noticed yet again, this time by director Stacy Cochran. She cast him in a CBS School Break Special. With her help he also received his first notable role on screen in 1996 as the loutish boyfriend of Winona Ryder in Boys. That same year he appeared in The Craft with Neve Campbell. He starred with Neve Campbell again in Wes Craven's hit slasher film Scream released later that same year which became his best known role. Other roles followed in The Newton Boys, Chill Factor, As Good as It Gets, Touch, and in Ride with the Devil. He enjoyed a major following with TV drama Jericho. He signed on to star in Law & Order: Los Angeles, but was released from his contract after filming 11 episodes.
Quote: 'I'm disappointed in acting as a craft. I want everything to go back to Orson Welles and fake noses and changing your voice. It's become so much about personality.'

Born: July 03, 1964 in Paris, France
