Early-life: Michael Kirk Douglas was born on September 25, 1944, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He's the eldest son of Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas and his first wife, actress Diana Douglas. He has a brother, Joel and a half-brother, Peter. His youngest half-brother, Eric, died in 2004. Michael's parents divorced when he was six, and he lived with his mother and stepfather before attending school in Massachusetts. He decided to become an actor while in his teens, despite his father trying to put him off the idea.
Career: Douglas appeared in numerous projects before landing a lead role in TV series The Streets of San Francisco in 1972. Three years later he won an Oscar for co-producing One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. He continued his acting career with roles in such hits as Romancing the Stone and its sequel, The Jewel of the Nile, Fatal Attraction, Wall Street (for which he won the Best Actor Oscar), Black Rain, The War of the Roses, Basic Instinct, Falling Down, Disclosure, The Game, A Perfect Murder, Wonder Boys, Traffic and You, Me and Dupree. He reprised his Gordon Gekko character in Oliver Stone's 2010 Wall Street sequel, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. Douglas was forced to take a break from acting in 2010 when he underwent chemotherapy and radiation treatment for throat cancer. The illness and aggressive treatment caused him to lose more than two stone in weight. In January 2011, he revealed in an interview that the tumour had gone, but he needs to attend regular screenings as there is a very high likelihood that the cancer could return. He has returned to movie-making however, with a subsequent appearance in Haywire.

Kathleen Turner (Actor) .. Joan
Born: June 19, 1954 in Springfield, Missouri
Best Known For: Her sultry voice.
Early-life: Born Mary Kathleen Turner in Springfield, Missouri, on June 19, 1954. She's the third of four children whose father, Richard, was a foreign diplomat imprisoned by the Japanese during the Second World War. She had a nomadic childhood, attending school in Cuba, Canada and England, before returning to Missouri following her father's death when she was a teenager. She studied at the University of Maryland and London's Central School of Speech and Drama before moving to New York.
Career: Turner started out the on stage, making her Broadway debut in 1977. She had a regular role in US soap The Doctors before making her first film, Body Heat, in 1981. Her sexy performance propelled her to stardom. Her follow-up movies were the smash-hit comedy The Man with Two Brains and Romancing the Stone. Throughout the rest of the 1980s, Turner was a massive star, appearing in Prizzi's Honour, Peggy Sue Got Married (for which she was Oscar-nominated), The Accidental Tourist and The War of the Roses. She also voiced Jessica Rabbit in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Turner didn't do as well in the 1990s, but did appear in the acclaimed Serial Mom and The Virgin Suicides. She has also guest starred in Friends as Chandler's drag queen father, and has returned to the theatre, most notably in The Graduate, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Bakersfield Mist.

Danny DeVito (Actor) .. Ralph
Born: November 17, 1944 in New Jersey
Best Known For: His on-screen partnerships with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Douglas.
Early-life: Daniel Michael DeVito Jr was born on November 17, 1944, in Neptune, New Jersey. His father owned a dry-cleaner's, a farm shop, a cafe and a pool hall. DeVito attended a strict Catholic school, then qualified as a hairdresser and worked in his sister's beauty parlour. During the mid-1960s he enrolled at New York's American Academy of Dramatic Art to study make-up techniques, but ended up acting instead. Before hitting the big time, he shared an apartment with Michael Douglas.
Career: DeVito's first movie was 1970's Dreams of Glass. Small roles followed in Bananas, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (produced by Douglas), and The Van. His big break came when he was cast as acerbic boss Louie in hit sitcom Taxi. Since then, he has worked steadily in such films as Terms of Endearment, Romancing the Stone, The Jewel of the Nile, Twins, Batman Returns, Big Fish and Be Cool. DeVito has also directed several movies and has his own production company, Jersey Films, which was responsible for classics such as Pulp Fiction and Erin Brockovich.
