Early-life:
Jason Kent Bateman was born in Rye, New York, on January 14, 1969 to flight attendant Victoria and film and TV producer Kent Bateman. At the age of 12, Jason made his TV acting debut in Little House on the Prairie. He earned the status of teen idol in the mid-1980s following appearances on Silver Spoons and The Hogan Family. He gained international recognition as the star of box office-flop Teen Wolf Too (1987).
Career:
During the 1990s, Bateman had roles in four TV series that never lasted beyond one season. He bounced back in 2003 when he was cast as Michael Bluth in the comedy series Arrested Development. It ended in 2006, only to be revived by Netflix in 2013. In recent years, Bateman has been involved in a number of popular Hollywood movies, including Juno (2007), Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008), Hancock (2008), Up in the Air (2009), Paul (2011), Horrible Bosses (2011) and Identity Thief (2013).
