Early-life: Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio was born in Los Angeles on November 11, 1974. His mother was a legal secretary and his father is a comic book writer. Leonardo's parents divorced when he was a year old and he lived mostly with his mother. His first taste of professional acting was in commercials when he was a teenager. In 1990, he landed a role in a short-lived TV version of the movie Parenthood. He went on to have small parts on several shows, including The New Lassie, Roseanne and Santa Barbara.
Career: DiCaprio made his film debut in direct-to-video comedy sci-fi horror Critters 3 in 1991. Shortly after, he had a recurring role on the sitcom Growing Pains. Early-life: Born in California in 1956, Tom Hanks grew up in what he calls a 'fractured' family. His parents were pioneers in the development of marriage dissolution law in that state, and Tom moved around a lot, living with a succession of step-families. Eager for a career in acting, he auditioned for a community theater play, was invited by the director of that play to go to Cleveland, and there his acting career started.
Career: After several TV roles, Hanks made the transition to movies and became one of the biggest stars of the past three decades. His breakthrough came in 1984's Splash, and was followed by hit after hit, including Bachelor Party and Dragnet. When he took the lead in Oscar-nominated Big in 1988, he transformed a simple comedy into something much more powerful, before truly proving his acting credentials with an Oscar-winning turn as an Aids-afflicted laweyer in Philadeplhia. He gave terrific turns in romantic comedies like Sleepless in Seattle, then another Oscar followed for Forrest Gump. Many expected him to garner a third for Saving Private Ryan. He has been a successful director of several projects and helped bring iconic TV projects like Band of Brothers to the screen. Martin Sheen (Actor) .. Roger Strong

Early-life: Ramón Gerardo Antonio Estévez was born on August 3, 1940, in Dayton, Ohio. He's the seventh of 10 children from a poor, but close-knit, Catholic family. His Irish mother died when he was 11. He deliberately failed his college exams to pursue an acting career, much to his Spanish father's dismay. At 18, Sheen borrowed money from a priest to move to Manhattan, where he found employment as a curtain puller and prop man. He adopted his current name to avoid being typecast.
Career: Sheen toured Europe with the Living Theatre group in 1961 and starred on Broadway before moving to Hollywood. His big break came in Terrence Malick's 1973 cult classic Badlands. He had a heart attack while filming 1979's Apocalypse Now, and later became a passionate campaigner on human rights issues. He's since featured in projects such as Gandhi, miniseries Kennedy, Wall Street (alongside son Charlie) and Catch Me If You Can. Sheen starred as a White House aide in romantic comedy The American President, which led to him being cast as the US leader in acclaimed TV drama The West Wing. He had a small but eye-catching part in Oscar-laden cop movie The Departed. He has also starred in Bobby and The Way, both directed by his son Emilio Estevez. He played Ben Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man (2012).

Early-life: Born Ronald Walken on March 31, 1943, in Astoria, New York. His father, a baker, was German, his mother was Scottish, and he has two brothers. All three boys had modelling and acting careers as children, and made appearances on various popular TV shows. Meeting comedy actor Jerry Lewis, while filming one of them, persuaded Walken to tackle acting full-time. After attending the Professional Children's School, he studied dance at Hofstra University, but dropped out to take a role in musical Best Foot Forward in 1963.
Career: For the next few years, Walken appeared in musical productions. After 1966's Barefoot in Athens, small roles in The Anderson Tapes and Annie Hall followed. His big break came in 1978 when he won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for The Deer Hunter. He's been in demand ever since. Other films include A View to a Kill, Batman Returns, True Romance, Pulp Fiction and Catch Me If You Can. He continues to be an in-demand character actor, excelling in both comedy and serious drama. Dancing in Fat Boy Slim video Weapon of Choice introduced him to a new generation of fans. More recent work includes Wedding Crashers, Man of the Year, Hairspray and Seven Psychopaths.

Early-life: Amy Lou Adams was born in Vicenza, Italy, on August 20, 1974. Early-life: Jennifer Anne Garner was born in Houston, Texas, on April 17, 1972. After graduating from high school, Garner enrolled at Denison University, Ohio, to study chemistry, but soon discovered her heart lay in acting. He dropped out of university but his early offerings, Firelight and Amblin, garnered much acclaim. He then landed a job at Universal Studios, where he directed TV movies.
Career: Spielberg's 1971 thriller Duel paved the way for feature film The Sugarland Express, a modest hit. In 1975, Jaws started a long run of successes, including the Indiana Jones films, ET, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan. He also co-founded studio Dreamworks SKG, which has backed various hits, including Shrek, American Beauty and Gladiator. Spielberg's recent films include The Terminal, Munich and War of the Worlds. He has also worked as the producer on a string of hit films, including The Goonies, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, the Back to the Future trilogy, the Transformers trilogy, and True Grit.
