Trudie Goodwin (Actor)
Born: November 13, 1951 in Lewisham
Best Known For: Playing Sergeant June Ackland in The Bill.
Early-life: Trudie was born in Lewisham on November 13, 1951. She made her TV debut in the 1980 drama series Fox. In 1983 she played WPC Ackland in one-off TV drama called Woodentop. It formed the basis for The Bill.
Career: Goodwin starred in The Bill between 1984 and 2007, making her the longest-serving member of the cast. After leaving the show, she appeared in Heartbeat and Doctors. In 2011, she joined the cast of Emmerdale, playing Georgia Sharma.
Quote: 'Being on The Bill changed my view of coppers and gave me a newfound respect for their integrity and the difficult job they do.'
Trivia: Goodwin has appeared on Countdown in Dictionary Corner.
