Craig McLachlan (Actor) .. Dr Lucien Blake
Born: September 01, 1965 in Sydney, Australia
Best Known For: Playing Henry in Neighbours.
Early-life: Craig Dougal McLachlan was born in Sydney on September 1, 1965. He claims he was interested in performing from an early age, describing himself as 'the only show-off in my family'. He was inspired to become an actor by watching John Wayne in True Grit and a production of Jesus Christ Superstar - he even did his own version of the latter in his back garden as a child.
Career: McLachlan played in numerous bands before making his TV debut in a 1987 episode of Sons and Daughters. Later that year, he won the role of Madge's son and Charlene's brother in Neighbours. He quickly became one of the soap's best-loved stars, gaining numerous plaudits including two coveted Logie awards - Australia's equivalent of a TV Bafta. He quit in 1989, had a short-lived music career and spent a further two years in Home and Away. Since then he's appeared in numerous musicals as well as TV series Bugs and Tribe. He returned to British TV screens in early 2011 when he appeared on Dancing on Ice, but he was voted off the show in the second week.
Quote: 'I've had many career highlights, but compared with meeting the Queen, nothing comes close.'
Trivia: McLachlan has played Frank N Furter in touring versions of The Rocky Horror Show.
