A woman leaves her estate to her son Alexander, who disappeared in Italy during World War Two on condition he claims the inheritance by 2010. When a mysterious stranger turns up at the funeral to claim the inheritance, he is called an imposter by the rest of the family. The quest for the truth finds Dalziel and Pascoe uncovering dark family secrets, including murder, betrayal, mad dogs, gay bars, young love and a revealing birthmark. Warren Clarke (Actor) .. Det Supt Andy Dalziel
Born: April 26, 1947 in Oldham
Best Known For: Dalziel & Pascoe (he played Dalziel).
Early-life: Born Alan Clarke on April 26, 1947, in Oldham, where his father's job involved putting stained glass in church windows. He left school at 15 and became a runner at the Manchester Evening News while doing amateur dramatics in his spare time. He changed his first name to Warren because a girlfriend admired Warren Beatty. After realising he wanted to act, he got his first break in a radio play for BBC Manchester.
Career: Clarke made his TV debut in the late 1960s, and went on to appear in episodes of Coronation Street, The Avengers, Callan, and The Virgin Soldiers before getting his big break with a prominent role in the controversial A Clockwork Orange in 1971. A variety of TV and movie work followed, including Shelley, SOS Titanic, Ishtar (alongside his namesake, Beatty) and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. High-profile roles later came in The Manageress, ID, The Mystery of Men, The Deputy, and Down to Earth. He became a household name thanks to a starring role in Dalziel & Pascoe, which first aired in 1996. He also appeared in Bleak House, Christmas at the Riviera, The Invisibles, Red Riding, Just William, and In with the Flynns. He died peacefully in his sleep on November 12, 2014 at the age of 67.

Best Known For: Playing DI Ross on Taggart.
Early-life: John was born in Burma on October 25, 1956 and brought up in Kenya until he was 12, when his family relocated to Edinburgh. His interest in acting started when he became a stage hand at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh. He returned to Kenya when he was 22 to star in a play at the Donovan Maule Theatre in Nairobi.
Career: Michie went on to make guest appearances in a number of TV programmes, including Bulman, Rockliffe's Babies, Lovejoy, Ruth Rendall Mysteries, The Bill and Heartbeat. His acting breakthrough came in 1998 when he was cast as DI Ross on popular Scottish detective series Taggart, a role he played until the show was axed in 2010. Since then, he has had recurring roles in Coronation Street and Holby City.
Quote: 'I just deal with whatever comes, although one thing is for sure - it is easier to deal with working hard than not working. The hardest thing about acting is not acting.'
Trivia: Michie has narrated a number of factual documentaries, including Big, Bigger, Biggest and Monster Moves.
