About this Broadcast

-

On January 5, 1922, Co Kildare-born Antarctic explorer Ernest Shackleton died of a heart attack in his cabin aboard the Quest. One of the dockers removed Shackleton's cabin and it served as his family's garden shed for over 70 years before being donated to the Shackleton Museum in Athy. This documentary follows Sven Habermann as he restores the cabin io its original state, and also reveals previously unseen archive material that brings viewers deep into the world of Shackleton's fearless adventures
