Letitia Dean (Actor) .. Sharon Watts
Born: November 14, 1967 in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire
Best Known For: Playing Sharon in EastEnders.
Early-life: Born November 14, 1967, in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, in a rented property on Barbara Cartland's estate. She's the youngest child of a tailor and his wife and has two older brothers. The family moved to Buckinghamshire when Letitia was three, and it was there that she became hooked on performing. At 10 she attended the Italia Conti Academy, and later went full-time to the Sylvia Young Theatre School so that she could concentrate on singing, acting and dancing.
Career: Dean's first professional job came at the age of 12 when she was cast as Pepper in a stage version of Annie. She also appeared as Sandy in Grease and toured as part of the rock group The Young Uns. TV shows such as Relative Strangers, Grange Hill and Brookside followed, but it was landing the role of Sharon Watts in EastEnders in 1985 that turned her into a household name. Dean spent 10 years in the soap before quitting. She was persuaded to return in 2001, but left again in 2006; she began her third stint in the show in 2012. Other work includes The Hello Girls, Casualty and Strictly Come Dancing on TV, and various pantomimes and straight theatre work on stage.
Quote: "(EastEnders) has always been very close to my heart."
Trivia: As of 2014 she is the fourth-longest serving actress in the history of EastEnders.
Nigel Harman (Actor) .. Dennis Watts
Born: August 11, 1973 in Purley, London
Best Known For: Playing Dennis Rickman in EastEnders.
Early-life: Nigel Derek Harman was born in Purley, Surrey, on August 11, 1973. He has a sister, Lisa. As a youngster, he was sporty and adored football, but his father's love of amateur dramatics led him into acting. With help and encouragement from his mother, who died of cancer when he was just 17, Nigel landed his first role in a stock-cube advert. More commercials followed, before Nigel enrolled at Arts Educational, Chiswick.
Career: Nigel's biggest early roles came in 1980s BBC drama Tenko and comedy sketch series Alas Smith and Jones. He appeared on stage in several works, including Summer Holiday, and was among the original cast of Mamma Mia! He returned to TV in 2002 for a role in Red Cap, but the next year would see him land the role of Dennis Rickman in EastEnders and become an overnight star. He left the soap at the end of 2005 and immersed himself in theatre work. He worked on a touring version of The Caretaker and the West End version of Guys and Dolls. On the small screen, he starred in the ill-received drama The Outsiders, and had a brief role in Leonardo DiCaprio vehicle Blood Diamond (2006). More recently, he has starred in Telstar (2008), Lark Rise To Candleford, Plus One, Hotel Babylon, Mount Pleasant and Downton Abbey.
Quote: "I don't want to sit down when I'm 70 or 80 years old and go 'I wish I'd tried that.' So I just think 'let's go for it.'"
Trivia: He won a number of soap awards during his time on EastEnders.
Michelle Ryan (Actor) .. Zoe Slater

Best Known For: Screaming "you're not my mother" at on-screen sister Kat Slater in EastEnders - then finding out she was wrong.
Early-life: Michelle Claire Ryan was born on April 22, 1984, in Enfield, London. She has Irish ancestry. A member of a local theatre group from the age of 10, she first appeared on TV in the series Chosen Ones. At 15, Michelle was picked for her role in EastEnders and first appeared on the show in September 2000. She had to disguise her usual RP voice with a convincing cockney accent for the part.
Career: After being involved in some of the most scintillating storylines in the soap's history, including being a suspect in the murder of Dirty Den, Ryan announced in 2005 she was leaving. Since then she has appeared in an episode of Marple, the independent film Cashback, and Jekyll for the BBC, alongside James Nesbitt. She also appeared in Mansfield Park opposite Billie Piper for ITV and as Lila in the film I Want Candy, co-starring Carmen Electra and Mackenzie Crook. In February 2007, it was announced she had been cast as the lead in the US revamp of Bionic Woman. Unfortunately, it was axed after one season. Since then, she has starred in Merlin, Doctor Who and Mr Eleven. On the stage, she has appeared in The Talented Mr Ripley.
Quote: "A fan sent me a picture of himself dressed as Superman with a note saying 'I'd love to marry you'. I was like, 'Er, no... I'm not too sure about that'."
Trivia: Auditioned for the role of Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale (2006), but lost out to French actress Eva Green.
Shane Richie (Actor) .. Alfie Moon
Born: March 11, 1964 in London
Best Known For: Playing Alfie Moon in EastEnders.
Early-life: Born Shane Patrick Roche on March 11, 1964, in Harlesden, north London. His dad was a dustman and the family struggled to make ends meet - they spent the first nine years of Shane's life living in an attic flat at a hostel for Turkish women, where his mum was a cleaner. He joined an amateur theatre group in his teens and left school at 16 to become a DJ in Plymouth, but the job fell through and he ended up living rough.
Career: Shane lied about his age to get a job as a bluecoat entertainer in Pontins holiday camps, then played the alternative comedy circuit where he was noticed by the BBC. They cast him in short-lived sketch shows such as You Gotta Be Joking, and Up To Something. Daytime show Win, Lose or Draw followed before he got his big break with ITV's Lucky Numbers. His own show, The Shane Richie Experience, was a flop, but he had more success on stage in musicals Grease and Boogie Nights. Richie made his EastEnders debut in 2002 and soon became a firm favourite with fans. During a break from Albert Square, he played the lead role in one series of revamped comedy drama Minder.
Quote: "Even now, to this day, if it all goes belly-up and I had to make a living, I would go back to Pontins."
Trivia: He is a patron of the Huntington's Disease Association.
