Peter Finch (Actor) .. Capt Starlight
Born: September 28, 1916 in London
Best Known For: A distinguished film career.
Early-life: Frederick George Peter Ingle Finch was born in London on September 28, 1916. He went to live with his great uncle Edward Finch in Sydney at the age of 10. Peter worked in a series of dead-end jobs before taking up acting.
Career: At the age of 19, Finch toured Australia with George Sorlie's travelling troupe. His first screen performance was in the 1935 short The Magic Shoes. He made his feature film debut in Rudd Family Goes to Town (1938). He enlisted in the Australian army in 1941 and served in the Middle East. After the war, Finch worked in radio and put on a number of theatre productions in Sydney. He left Australia for London in 1948 and Laurence Olivier became his mentor. His first big break came when he was cast in Daphne Laureola at the Old Vic. In 1954, Finch began making films for Rank. In 1956 he appeared in box office hits A Town Like Alice and The Battle of the River Plate, and went on to become an international star with the success of The Nun's Story (1959). He had considerable success in the 1960s and 1970s in The Trials of Oscar Wilde (1960), No Love for Johnnie (1961) and Sunday Bloody Sunday (1971). He won a posthumous Academy Award for Network (1976). He died in Beverly Hills on January 14, 1977 at the age of 60.

Trivia: Had a reputation as a hard-drinking womaniser. He had an on-off affair with Vivian Leigh, which began in 1948.

Born: September 19, 1933 in Glasgow
Best Known For: The Man from UNCLE and NCIS.
Early-life: David Keith McCallum Jr was born in Glasgow on September 19, 1933. He had an older brother called Iain. Both their parents were professional musicians. David was expected to follow in their footsteps; he was a talented oboe player. The family moved to London when he was 10 after his father took a job with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. David began performing with the BBC radio repertory company in 1946 and later studied at the Royal College of Music, but left to attend Rada.
Career: McCallum became an assistant stage manager, but National Service interrupted his career. He made his film debut in 1957's These Dangerous Years, and appeared in numerous British movies before moving to Hollywood in the early 1960s. He landed roles in Billy Budd and The Great Escape but it was his performance as Illya Kuryakin in The Man from UNCLE that made him a household name in 1964. The series ran until 1968, and a spin-off TV movie was made in 1983. He also released four albums in the 1960s. Other major projects include Colditz, The Invisible Man, Sapphire and Steel, Mother Love, Hear My Song, and Cluedo. Since 2003, he has starred in popular American drama NCIS, playing forensics expert Dr Donald 'Ducky' Mallard.
