Early-life:
Victoria was born in Ramsbottom on October 2, 1968. She went on to study English Language and Literature at the University of Liverpool, and a post-graduate diploma course in radio and TV journalism at Preston Polytechnic, now the department of Journalism, Media and Communication, University of Central Lancashire. Victoria worked as a reporter in local radio before joining BBC Radio 5 Live in 1998 as a co-presenter of the breakfast show with Julian Worricker.
Career:
In 2004, Derbyshire started presenting the morning news programme on BBC Radio 5 Live. Away from radio, she has been a reporter on Watchdog and The One Show and a presenter on Newsnight. She left her morning show on BBC Radio 5 Live in September 2014. In April 2015, she began presenting a daily news magazine programme that was simulcast on BBC2 and the BBC News Channel.
