Phil Daniels (Actor) .. Jimmy Cooper
Born: October 25, 1958 in London
Best Known For: Starring in cult film Quadrophenia, and EastEnders.
Early-life: Philip William Daniels was born in Islington on October 25, 1958. He and his parents survived the 1972 Eltham Well Hall rail crash. He was introduced to acting by drama teacher Anna Scher, who ran a workshop at his school. Although he only took part for a laugh, he found he really enjoyed it, and later signed up for her acting school. He began winning TV roles when he was still in his early teens, and at the age of 16 made an uncredited appearance as a waiter in Bugsy Malone.
Career: Daniels appeared in Scum and Zulu Dawn, but his biggest break came in 1979 when he landed the lead role in cult film Quadrophenia. He continued to work steadily in TV, film and theatre before a slightly lean patch hit in the early 1990s. However, in 1994 he reached a new audience by narrating Blur's hit song Parklife; he was also in demand as an actor with roles in Holding On, Still Crazy, The Long Firm and Outlaws. In 2006, he joined the cast of EastEnders as Kevin Wicks and stayed for two years. Since leaving Walford, he has competed in Strictly Come Dancing, played Granddad in the Only Fools and Horses prequel Rock and Chips, and written his autobiography.
Quote: 'The worst thing you can ever be is skint and a bit famous. It's embarrassing when you're standing in line at the local dole office and someone asks for your autograph.'
Trivia: He supports Chelsea FC.
Leslie Ash (Actor) .. Steph
Born: February 19, 1960 in London
Best Known For: Men Behaving Badly.
Early-life: Born February 19, 1960. Her sister, Debbie, was a dancer with Hot Gossip. Ash had drama training at the Italia Conti School, and made her TV debut at the age of four in a Fairy Liquid advert. She now says of the experience: 'I don't believe in putting kids into that business. I remember getting really bored and very hot. But I don't blame my parents, it's the sort of thing that all children think they'd like to do - until they actually do it.'
Career: After a spell as a model, Ash's big break came when she was cast in cult movie Quadrophenia in 1979. She then appeared in Nutcracker, The Curse of the Pink Panther and Dead on Time before starring in hit TV drama Cats Eyes in 1985. Since then, she's had roles in Haggard, Stay Lucky, and really hit the big-time with Men Behaving Badly. She also spent three years in Where the Heart Is.
Quote: 'The first sign of ageing in a woman is around the mouth.'
Trivia: Away from acting, she co-owns several clubs and restaurants, including Teatro in London's West End.
Sting (Actor) .. Ace Face
Ray Winstone (Actor) .. Kevin
Born: February 19, 1957 in London
Best Known For: Scum and Sexy Beast.
Early-life: Born Raymond Andrew Winstone on February 19, 1957, in Hackney, east London, but moved with his family to Enfield when he was seven. His parents ran a fruit and veg business. He began boxing shortly before his teens and proved to be a formidable opponent, becoming London Schoolboy Champion three times and fighting twice for England. He also studied at the Corona Theatre School where he came to the attention of director Alan Clarke who cast him as Carlin in the controversial BBC play Scum in 1977.
Career: Scum was remade as a movie two years later. Winstone reprised his role, winning huge critical acclaim, before landing a part in the cult Brit flick Quadrophenia. After becoming a well-known name and face, he appeared in numerous TV shows, including Fox, Robin of Sherwood, and The Ghostbusters of East Finchley, but is better known for his often violent or controversial films, such as Nil By Mouth, Face and Sexy Beast. He is currently the face of an advertisement campaign for an on-line betting company, resolutely appearing during live football matches quoting the latest odds. Other projects include Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, The Departed, Great Expectations, Vincent and the big-screen remake of The Sweeney.
Quote: 'If you can get in a ring with 2,000 people watching and be smacked around by another guy, then walking on stage isn't hard.'
Trivia: He supports West Ham United.
Toyah Willcox (Actor) .. Monkey
Born: May 18, 1958 in Birmingham
Career: Willcox's first film was 1977's Jubilee, the year she formed her band. Acting projects such as Quadrophenia, The Tempest and Quatermass followed as her musical career took off. She had chart success in the early 1980s with such songs as It's a Mystery and I Want to be Free, but always maintained a discreet distance from the excesses of the punk scene. Since that era, she's juggled her theatre, TV, film and music careers. Other notable productions include TV movie The Ebony Tower, and stage hits Cabaret and Calamity Jane. Willcox also lent her voice to The Teletubbies and appeared in the second series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! She continues to perform on stage, and has been a panellist on Loose Women. In January 2014, she was a contestant on ITV reality series Splash!
Quote: 'It wasn't that I saw Sex Pistols and thought: 'Oh, that changed my life'. I saw them and my reaction was: 'I can do better, I'll go to London to do it'. From then on I knew I didn't have to behave in a social norm. Because I wasn't alone.'
Trivia: In 2008, Willcox took part in the Great Walk to Beijing alongside other celebrities to raise money for Olivia Newton-John's cancer charity.
Best Known For: Her singing and acting careers.
