Early-life:
Christopher Tucker was born in Atlanta, Georgia on August 31, 1972 and is one of six children. His mother, Mary, was a church volunteer, while his father, Norris, owned a cleaning business. At school, Tucker was, unsurprisingly, the perpetual class clown and his teachers encouraged him to pursue a career as a stand-up comedian.
Career:
Tucker cut his teeth on the stand-up comedy circuit, before becoming a regular performer on Def Comedy Jam. He made his big-screen debut in House Party 3, before starring alongside Ice Cube in cult comedy Friday and in critically acclaimed Dead Presidents. He became a household name after starring alongside Jackie Chan in Rush Hour in 1998, and its two sequels. He also made a memorable cameo appearance in The Fifth Element. More recently, he starred in Silver Linings Playbook.
