Early-life: Milla Jovovich was born December 17, 1975 in Kiev. At five-years-old, she and her family left the Soviet Union and moved to London, before relocating to Sacramento California, and finally settling in Los Angeles. Both her mother and father provided cleaning services for director Brian De Palma to make ends meet. She started modelling aged 11, and went on to become one of the world's most sought after models. Milla made her acting debut in 1988 TV movie Night Train To Kathmandu, and then appeared in her first feature film, Two Moon Junction. By 1991 she starred in Return to the Blue Lagoon and in 1993 appeared in cult movie Dazed and Confused.
Career: In 1997 she starred alongside Bruce Willis in sci-fi blockbuster The Fifth Element, and re-teamed with director Luc Besson for The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc in 1999. Milla proved she was an impressive physical actress in action epics, but really proved her worth with the Resident Evil movies. Since 2002, she has played Alice, a zombie-bashing clone in a series which has grossed more than $674million and helped make her one of the most bankable actreses on the planet.

Early-life: Ronald Francis Perlman was born April 13, 1950 in New York City, New York. He attended George Washington High School, the Lehman College in New York City, where he got the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre, and the University of Minnesota. He graduated from the latter in 1973 as a Master of Fine Arts. Made his TV debut in 1979 series Ryan's Hope. His big screen debut came in acclaimed prehistoric drama Quest For Fire. Perlman paid the rent with projects including The Ice Pirates, The Fall Guy and Miami Vice, before TV series Beauty and the Beast made him a cult star in 1987.
Career: In 1993 he made his first collaboration with director Guillermo del Toro in Cronos, and also became a favourite of director Jean-Pierre Jeunet after starring in The City of Lost Children. The French director also cast him in Alien Resurrection. Re-teamed with del Toro for Blade II, who also cast him as the heroic demon star of Hellboy in 2004. Also starred in a sequel to that hit, and voiced an animated spin-off. Has lent his familiar tones to assorted cartoons and video games over the years, including Batman and Halo 3. In recent years has won a new wave of fans thanks to hit TV series Sons of Anarchy, and the films Drive and Conan the Barbarian. He starred in del Toro's 2013 fantasy epic Pacific Rim.

Best Known For: Writing the Resident Evil films.
Early-life: Paul William Scott Anderson was born on March 4, 1965 in Northumberland. He started making films at age nine, using a Super-8 camera. Paul graduated as the youngest student ever from the University of Warwick with a Bachelor's degree in film and literature.
Career: Anderson started his professional career as a writer on the TV crime drama comedy El C.I.D. His first feature film was Shopping (1994), which he wrote and directed. Shopping gave him the opportunity to direct Mortal Kombat (1995), an adaptation of the video game series. Following this, he directed Event Horizon (1997) and Soldier (1998). He wrote and directed Resident Evil (2002), another adaptation of a video game series, and wrote its sequels. Other films in his writing and directing back catalogue include AVP: Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Death Race (2008).
