UCOS looks into the murder of a private investigator who was stabbed through the heart in a suspected robbery gone wrong. The answers may lie with the victim's last three cases, but it'll take the whole team's expertise to crack the codes within his mysterious notebook. The movements of a rare stamp could hold the key to the investigation - if only UCOS could track it down. Meanwhile, Steve has problems when he rents out his flat

Denis Lawson (Actor) .. Steve McAndrew
Born: September 27, 1947 in Perthshire, Scotland
Best Known For: Being Ewan McGregor's uncle.
Early-life: Denis Stamper Lawson was born on September 27, 1947, in Perthshire, Scotland. His sister, Carol, is the mother of actor Ewan McGregor. Their parents hailed from Glasgow, but moved to Crieff to escape the poverty-stricken city. They later owned a watchmaker and jeweller's store. He remains very close to his family, and inspired Ewan to become an actor. Lawson left Crieff in the early 1970s to pursue his career in London.
Career: Lawson's first big success was in West End musical Pal Joey. He also appeared in such memorable TV productions as The Merchant of Venice, Rock Follies and The Man in the Iron Mask. He had a small role in the original Star Wars trilogy, was in the acclaimed Local Hero in 1983, and took the lead in sitcom The Kit Curran Radio Show. He has rarely been out of work since, whether it's on stage, film or TV. Among his other projects are The Ambassador, Bob Martin, Hornblower, Holby City, Bleak House, Robin Hood, Enid, Just William, Marchlands and New Tricks. He's also a director and has worked with his nephew on the theatre production Little Malcolm and his Struggle Against the Eunuchs, and short film Solid Geometry.

Trivia: He voiced a character in the video game Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader.
Nicholas Lyndhurst (Actor) .. Danny Griffin
Born: April 21, 1961 in Emsworth, Hampshire
Best Known For: Playing Del Boy's gangly brother Rodney Trotter.
Early-life: Nicholas Simon Lyndhurst was born on April 21, 1961, in Emsworth, Hampshire. He was raised by his single mum Liz, but has described his father Joe as a "gentle man, very funny, very charming". Nicholas subsequently had little contact with Joe after turning 17. At the age of eight he decided he wanted to be an actor, and at 10 he began training while boarding at the Corona Stage Academy. Appearances in adverts paid for his studies.
Career: Lyndhurst made his TV debut in an adaptation of Heidi in 1974. He followed this with roles in The Prince and the Pauper, and The Tomorrow People. In 1978, Lyndhurst began his transition into more grown-up roles by playing Ronnie Barker's son in Porridge spin-off Going Straight, and classic sitcom Butterflies, but it was Only Fools And Horses that made him a household name when it began in 1981. Since then, he's also starred in The Two of Us, The Piglet Files, David Copperfield, Gulliver's Travels, Goodnight Sweetheart, After You've Gone and Only Fools prequel Rock & Chips. He is now a regular in New Tricks.

Tamzin Outhwaite (Actor) .. Sasha Miller
Born: November 05, 1970 in Ilford, Essex
Best Known For: Playing Mel in EastEnders.
Early-life: Tamzin Outhwaite was born on November 5, 1970, in Ilford, Essex. Her mother is Italian. She discovered her love of performing at a young age and would put on plays with her two younger brothers. She became involved with local amateur dramatics in her teens and admits that her schoolwork suffered, although she always did well in drama. After taking her O-levels at 16, Outhwaite signed up for a three-year acting course at the London Studio Centre, where she was voted Most Outstanding All-Rounder.
Career: Outhwaite took small parts in various West End productions and also appeared on TV in The Bill and Men Behaving Badly. Her big break came in 1997, when dramatist Alan Ayckbourn spotted her in the chorus of a musical and offered her the lead role in his play Absent Friends. She then played the part of Melanie Healy in EastEnders for three years. Since leaving Walford, she has starred in the dramas Red Cap and Final Demand, and won rave reviews for her performance as a single mum in the improvised drama Out of Control. Other work includes an appearance in Fast Freddie, The Widow and Me, Doctor Who and Marple. She has also appeared on the stage in revivals of Boeing Boeing and Sweet Charity, and is the lead actress in New Tricks.

Larry Lamb (Actor) .. Ted Case
Born: October 10, 1947 in London
Best Known For: Playing Archie in EastEnders.
Early-life: Born in London in 1943, Lamb joined the oil industry, which resulted in him working in Libya and Canada, where he attended St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. This developed his amateur interest in acting into a professional level, performing at Canada's Stratford Festival in 1975-1976. He returned to the UK, and became a regular cast member, along with Kate O'Mara, in the BBC's North Sea ferry based soap Triangle (1981-83), in which he played Matt Taylor, the ship's Chief Engineer.
Career: Other credits include The New Avengers, The Professionals, Fox, Minder, Get Back, Lovejoy, Get Back, A Touch of Frost, Our Friends in the North, Taggart, Casualty, Kavanagh QC, Spooks, Midsomer Murders and The Bill. Lamb has also appeared in various films including the 1980s hit Buster also starring Phil Collins and Julie Walters, as Peter Chase in Essex Boys and in 1983, had a small speaking role in the blockbuster Superman III. Most recently, Lamb has been seen in Gavin & Stacey playing Gavin's father, Michael Shipman. In 2008, he began playing the part of twisted, manipulative Archie Mitchell in Eastenders.

Dean Andrews (Actor) .. Warnock
Born: August 06, 1963 in Rotherham
Best Known For: Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes.
Early-life: Dean was born in Rotherham on August 6, 1963. His parents were publicans. He spent 20 years singing at holiday resorts and on cruise ships before his big break came when he successfully auditioned for a part in Ken Loach's The Navigators (2001), a film set in Sheffield.
Career: Andrews went on to pick up guest roles in the likes of Buried, Clocking Off, No Angels, Casualty, Wire in the Blood and Shameless before landing his dream part as Ray Carling in the critically acclaimed Life on Mars. He played Carling in two series of Life on Mars and three series of spin-off show Ashes to Ashes. Since then, Andrews has rarely been off TV screens. He has starred in Marchlands, The Case, Being Eileen, Vera and Last Tango in Halifax.
Quote: "I've been so lucky in my career as I was a late starter and I owe it all to film director Ken Loach."
Trivia: In 2013, he got to sing in his first stage play, Victoria Wood's That Day We Sang at the Royal Exchange in Manchester.
Christina Cole (Actor) .. Carmen Creswell
Born: May 08, 1982 in London
Best Known For: A string of TV roles.
Early-life: Christina was born in London on May 8, 1982. She has a sister, Cassandra, and a brother, Dominic. Christina went on to train at the Oxford School of Drama. She won a part in the film What a Girl Wants (2003) while still at drama school. Guest appearances followed in Foyle's War, All About Me and Agatha Christie's Marple. She had a recurring role in the 2004 BBC miniseries He Knew He Was Right.
Career: Cole's first lead role came in the Sky1 drama Hex. She went on to appear in the BBC miniseries Jane Eyre, had a cameo in the James Bond film Casino Royale (2006) and starred in the ITV miniseries Lost in Austen. Her TV credits also include guest roles in the popular dramas Midsomer Murders, Lewis, and Silent Witness. More recently, she has starred in two miniseries - The Assets and Rosemary's Baby, the legal drama Suits, and BBC period drama Agatha Christie's Partners in Crime. She has also starred on the big screen in Jupiter Ascending (2015).
