After months trapped in a port in northern France, the winds finally change and Duke William leads his vast invasion fleet across the Channel. Catastrophically, King Harold is 300 miles away in the north, having defeated the Vikings. Harold rushes back south, gathers a new army, and heads to Hastings to take on this new invasion. The two armies will meet at Battle in Sussex on October 14, 1066, and the outcome will change the shape of England and Europe for ever. Dan Snow presents

Dan Snow (Presenter)
Born: December 03, 1978 in London
Best Known For: Following in the footsteps of his journalist father.
Early-life: Born in 1978, Dan is the youngest son of broadcaster Peter Snow and Ann MacMillan, a CBC London correspondent. Through his mother, he is the nephew of Canadian historian Margaret MacMillan, and a great-great-grandson of British Prime Minister David Lloyd George. Snow was educated at St Paul's School, an independent school in Barnes in south London, where he was Captain of the School, followed by Balliol College at the University of Oxford. He rowed three times in the University Boat Race,. He received a first-class honours degree in Modern History
Career: In 2003, Snow and his father made a programme on El Alamein to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the battle and followed this up with an eight-part series on BBC2 in 2004 called Battlefield Britain. This won a BAFTA award (for special effects). The same year Snow won a Sony award as one of the presenters on LBC's Boat Race coverage. He has made numerous history programmes for the BBC. He also presents on many of the state occasions such as the 200th anniversary celebration of the Battle of Trafalgar, Beating Retreat 2006, the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, the 90th anniversary of the Armistice in November 2008, Trooping the Colour and the City Salute.

Trivia: In August 2011, Snow performed a citizen's arrest on a looter during riots in Notting Hill.

Best Known For: Playing Cleveland O. Petty in Band of Brothers.
Early-life: Born September 9, 1972 in the United Kingdom to actress Polly James. Adam trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama alongside Dominic West and Daniel Evans. He graduated in 1996.
Career: After graduating, James started playing small roles in various TV series, including The Bill, Let Them Eat Cake and The 10th Kingdom, as well as such TV films as Sharpe's Regiment (1996). In 2001, he came to prominence in TV series Band of Brothers. He has made guest appearances in Holby City and he also played Pete Guildford for 17 episodes of Casualty in 2005. His other notable TV credits include Doctor Who, Extras, Ashes to Ashes and Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He has also appeared in a number of plays, such as The Pride, King Lear and Much Ado About Nothing. He played the Prime Minister in a production of King Charles III that was performed in the West End and on Broadway. James also played the Prime Minister in the TV version of King Charles III.
