Early-life: Born John Christopher Depp II on June 9, 1963, in Owensboro, Kentucky. He was particularly close to his grandfather and was devastated by his death, which coincided with the family moving to Florida. His parents split when he was 15, an event which prompted the adolescent to drop out of school. Depp sang with a series of bands, including one named the Kids. He became a ballpoint-pen salesman to support himself and his wife, Lori Anne Allison.
Career: On a visit to Los Angeles, Depp met Nicolas Cage who took him to see his agent. Early-life: Isla Lang Fisher was born in Muscat, Oman, on February 3, 1976. Her parents are Scottish but they were living in Oman at the time of her birth. In her early years, her family moved to Bathgate, Scotland, and when she was six, they relocated to Perth, Western Australia. From a young age, she appeared in commercials on Australian TV and went on to win roles in children's shows Bay City and Paradise Beach.
Career: Isla's big break came in 1994 when she landed the role of Shannon Reed on Home and Away. After leaving the show in 1997, she enrolled at L'Ecole Internationale de Theatre Jacques Lecoq, a theatre and arts training school in Paris. She also exploited the fame she achieved on Home and Away by appearing in pantomime in the UK. In 2002, she played Shaggy's love interest on the big screen in Scooby-Doo (2002). Early-life: Born William Francis Nighy on December 12, 1949, in Caterham, Surrey. His mother was a psychiatric nurse, his father a car mechanic. He has two older siblings and claims he probably would have followed in his dad's footsteps had he not discovered literature in his teens. Although not academically gifted at school, he ran away to Paris to write a novel. After failing to put pen to paper, he returned to the UK to become a journalist, but realised he wasn't cut out for it. On the advice of a girlfriend, he went to drama school.
Career: Nighy honed his craft at Liverpool's Everyman Theatre in the 1970s. He made his TV debut in 1980 in sitcom Agony. His first film, Eye of the Needle, came a year later. He has juggled acclaimed stage appearances with TV and film work. His role as a randy lecturer in 1991's The Men's Room made him a heart-throb, but he didn't become familiar to audiences until a string of hits beginning with 1998's Still Crazy, followed by Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, State of Play, and Love Actually. He also starred in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the Pirates of the Caribbean sequels, Stormbreaker and Underworld: Evolution. He also appeared in Enchanted April (1991), The Perez Family (1995), Leo Tolstoy's Anna Karenina (1997) and Chocolat (2000). Early-life: Born July 14, 1926, in Kentucky, Stanton, graduated from Lafayette Senior High School. He joined the US Navy in the 1940s and served in Okinawa during World War Two. After being discharged, he became a drama student at the University of Kentucky. He honed his craft in a production of Pygmalion, and later moved to California, where he worked at the Pasadena Playhouse. Stanton toured the States with a male choir, worked in children's theatre, and then returned to California.
Career: Almost 50 years after making his film debut in Tomahawk Trail, he has appeared in more than 150 projects, including Revolt at Fort Laramie, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Have Gun - Will Travel, Rawhide, The Fugitive and The Wild Wild West. He's also featured in cult films Cool Hand Luke, Kelly's Heroes, The Godfather Part II, Alien, Escape From New York, Pretty in Pink, Paris, Texas, Repo Man and The Green Mile. Popped up in Ant and Dec vehicle Alien Autopsy and had a recurring role on US drama Big Love.

Early-life: Timothy David Olyphant was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on May 20, 1968 to John and Katherine. He was raised in Modesto, California, and started swimming competitively from the age of six. He was still swimming competitively when he attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where he studied fine art. After taking an acting class at UC Irvine, he moved to New York to take acting classes at the William Esper Studio.
Career: Olyphant made his professional acting debut in 1995 in the off-Broadway production of The Monogamist. After returning to Los Angeles, he landed a role in 77 Sunset Strip, a TV pilot produced by Clint Eastwood. His film debut was a small role in The First Wives Club (1996). His first notable role was an appearance as a cynical student in Scream 2 (1997). He is best known for his portrayal of Sheriff Seth Bullock in HBO drama Deadwood. Since 2010, he has played Deputy US Marshal Raylan Givens in crime drama Justified. His other TV credits include Damages, The Office, Archer and The Mindy Project. Early-life: Born Gregor Verbinski in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, on March 16, 1964, the third of five children of Laurette and Victor. In 1967, his family moved near San Diego in California. Gore was a guitarist in several Los Angeles rock bands, including the Daredevils and the Drivers, and he used to make films with his friends. After developing a passion for film-making, he sold his guitar to buy a Super-8mm camera. He went on to attend the UCLA Film School, graduating in 1987. He started his career directing music videos and commercials. He made his feature film directing debut with Mouse Hunt. It was a commercial success, making more than $120million at the box office.
Career: Verbinski followed up the success of Mouse Hunt with action comedy The Mexican (2001) and horror film remake The Ring (2002), which grossed more than $200million worldwide. His big break came in 2003 when he directed Johnny Depp in the hugely popular Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. It grossed more than $650million worldwide. His next film, The Weather Man (2005), was his first box-office failure. He bounced back by directing two Pirates of the Caribbean sequels. The animated comedy western Rango followed in 2011 and box-office disaster The Lone Ranger arrived in 2013.
