Many Happy Returns
Season 7, Episode 1

Seventeen years on and living in 1962, Gary realises he has the opportunity to witness himself being born. On arrival at the maternity hospital, he meets his own father waiting anxiously, and when the baby arrives tells the midwife that he's its uncle. As she hands him the precious bundle the laws of physics go berserk as the long-lost time portal is thunderously re-opened and Gary finds himself catapulted into 2016. Writers Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran extend the narrative of their original time-travelling sitcom, reuniting Nicholas Lyndhurst, Elizabeth Carling and many of the original cast

Nicholas Lyndhurst (Actor) .. Gary Sparrow
Born: April 21, 1961 in Emsworth, Hampshire
Best Known For: Playing Del Boy's gangly brother Rodney Trotter.
Early-life: Nicholas Simon Lyndhurst was born on April 21, 1961, in Emsworth, Hampshire. He was raised by his single mum Liz, but has described his father Joe as a "gentle man, very funny, very charming". Nicholas subsequently had little contact with Joe after turning 17. At the age of eight he decided he wanted to be an actor, and at 10 he began training while boarding at the Corona Stage Academy. Appearances in adverts paid for his studies.
Career: Lyndhurst made his TV debut in an adaptation of Heidi in 1974. He followed this with roles in The Prince and the Pauper, and The Tomorrow People. In 1978, Lyndhurst began his transition into more grown-up roles by playing Ronnie Barker's son in Porridge spin-off Going Straight, and classic sitcom Butterflies, but it was Only Fools And Horses that made him a household name when it began in 1981. Since then, he's also starred in The Two of Us, The Piglet Files, David Copperfield, Gulliver's Travels, Goodnight Sweetheart, After You've Gone and Only Fools prequel Rock & Chips. He is now a regular in New Tricks.
Quote: "The idea of achieving fame and fortune didn't cross my mind and I find it terrifying that being famous is the sole objective of so many young people today."
Trivia: He enjoys underwater diving.
Elizabeth Carling (Actor) .. Phoebe Sparrow
Born: October 20, 1967 in Middlesbrough
Best Known For: Playing Selena in Casualty
Early-life: Born in Middlesbrough in 1967. She has two older siblings and a twin sister called Laura. She enjoyed drama from an early age and after leaving school attended Billingham Technical College to study an arts foundation course and an A Level in Theatre Studies. At 18, she moved to London to join the National Youth Theatre, before heading back to Newcastle, where she appeared in numerous stage productions.
Career: After appearing in touring productions of The Rocky Horror Show and The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Carling got her big TV break in 1989 when she landed the role of Laura Marsh in Boon. She followed that with appearances in Crocodile Shoes and Men Behaving Badly, and in 1997 replaced Dervla Kirwan as cockney barmaid Phoebe in the sitcom Good Night Sweetheart. She also starred in Border Cafe and Barbara before making a brief appearance in Casualty in 2003. A year later she became a regular on the medical drama when she accepted the role of Selena.
Quote: On medical terms: "You try to learn them as well as you can but it's like learning Swahili. It's not English and it doesn't come tripping off the tongue."
