Early-life: Jennifer Shrader Lawrence was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on August 15, 1990. Her parents are Gary and Karen and she has two older brothers, Ben and Blaine. She acted in a local theatre and by the age of 14, she knew she wanted to pursue an acting career. Jennifer was discovered by a photographer while visiting New York with her mother in 2005. This led to her securing an agent and she went on to appear in a number of commercials.
Career: Lawrence's first TV role was in the comedy The Bill Engvall Show, which aired for three seasons between 2007 and 2009. Her big break came in 2010 when she was cast in the lead role in Winter's Bone, which landed her an Academy Award nomination. Since then, she has starred in X-Men: First Class (2011), the hugely popular The Hunger Games (2012), House at the End of the Street (2012) and Silver Linings Playbook (2012), which turned out to be an Academy Award-winning performance. More box-office success has followed in sequels to The Hunger Games, American Hustle (2013), and X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014).

Philip Seymour Hoffman (Actor) .. Plutarch Heavensbee

Best Known For: A string of acclaimed movie roles.
Early-life: Born in Rochester, New York, on July 23, 1967. He was the son of a lawyer and a business executive, and had three siblings. His parents divorced when he was nine. Philip developed a passion for drama at high school, and studied at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, from where he graduated in 1989.
Career: Philip's TV debut came in an episode of Law & Order and early films included Scent of a Woman. By the late 1990s, he started to make critics take notice with indie hits Boogie Nights, The Big Lebowski, Happiness, Flawless and Magnolia. On stage he also impressed critics with True West. During the last 10 years of his life, Philip had become one of Hollywood's most reliable character actors, adding depth to projects such as Cold Mountain, Capote (for which he won an Oscar), and Mission: Impossible III. Other projects include The Savages, Charlie Wilson's War, Synecdoche, New York, Doubt, The Invention of Lying, Moneyball, The Master and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. He died in New York on February 2, 2014, at the age of 46.

Early-life: Born Julie Anne Smith on December 3, 1960, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, USA. She changed her name to avoid clashing identities with another actress. Her brother is author Peter Moore Smith, and she also has a younger sister named Valerie. The daughter of a Scottish social worker mother and a military judge father, she lived in many different places as a child. After high school, she studied acting at Boston University, making ends meet as a waitress, and moved to New York on graduating in 1983.
Career: Moore started her professional career on stage and made her TV debut in 1984 with a recurring role in soap Edge of Night. She then had a two-year stint in As the World Turns, before taking roles in numerous forgettable movies. First made a mark on the big screen in 1993 with small roles in Benny and Joon, Short Cuts and The Fugitive. She followed those up with bigger parts in Nine Months and The Lost World. Her first Oscar nomination followed for 1997's Boogie Nights. She's since been nominated for The End of the Affair, Far from Heaven and The Hours. Other projects include The Kids Are All Right, Carrie and playing Sarah Palin in Game Change.

Donald Sutherland (Actor) .. President Snow
Born: July 17, 1935 in Saint John, Canada
Best Known For: MASH, Don't Look Now and Kelly's Heroes.
Early-life: Donald McNichol Sutherland was born on July 17, 1935, in Saint John, Canada, and was raised in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. He became a DJ at the age of 14 on a local radio station, before studying engineering and drama at the University of Toronto, where he was evicted from his lodgings after hurling a sink out of a window. He moved to London, where he attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. A spell in repertory theatre followed.
Career: Sutherland appeared in several British TV dramas before making his film debut in 1964's Crypt of Horror. He named his eldest son after its director, Warren Kiefer. More small-screen and low-budget movie projects followed until 1967's The Dirty Dozen. That led to bigger roles in acclaimed films, including 1970's MASH, which made him a star. Impressive yet occasionally offbeat performances followed in films such as Kelly's Heroes, Klute, Don't Look Now, The Eagle Has Landed, Animal House, Ordinary People and JFK. More recently he's featured in Dirty Sexy Money, Astro Boy (as the voice of President Stone), The Hunger Games and The Pillars of the Earth.

In 2002, Josh began auditioning for TV pilots in Los Angeles. He starred in two pilots before appearing in an episode of ER. A year later, he played the lead role in the TV movie Miracle Dogs. As a child actor, he went on to appear in a number of Hollywood films.
Career: Hutcherson's first came to prominence in 2007 when he starred alongside AnnaSophia Robb in Walt Disney's hugely popular fantasy drama Bridge to Terabithia. Roles followed in Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008), The Kids Are All Right (2010) and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012). His big break came in 2012 when he landed the role of Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games (2012). The film went on to gross more than $690million worldwide. The sequel, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013), proved even more popular, earning more than $864million. His other movie credits include The Forger (2012), Red Dawn (2012) and Escobar: Paradise Lost (2014).

Early-life: Liam was born in Melbourne on January 13, 1990 to Leonie and Craig. Both of his older brothers, Luke and Chris, are actors. When he was a teenager, his family relocated to Phillip Island, a small island near Melbourne. In 2007, he started his acting career with guest appearances on Home and Away and McLeod's Daughters. In the same year, he landed a recurring role on Neighbours. Two years later, he moved to California. He auditioned for the lead role in Thor (2011), but the part went to his brother Chris.
Career: Hemsworth went on to land a role in Disney's The Last Song (2010) alongside Miley Cyrus. It was a box-office success. His big break came in 2012 when he landed the role of Gale Hawthorne in The Hunger Games (2012). He went on to reprise the role in all of The Hunger Games sequels. His other film credits include The Expendables 2 (2012), Empire State (2013) and Paranoia (2013).

Early-life: Born Woodrick Tracy Harrelson on July 23, 1961, in Midland, Texas, but grew up in Lebanon, Ohio. His father, Charles, has twice been found guilty of committing murder for money - once in 1968, the second time in 1978. He is also believed to have been one of several so-called hobos escorted from the infamous grassy knoll in Dallas immediately after JFK's assassination in 1963. Harrelson gained a degree in theatre arts and English from Hanover College in Indiana before moving to New York.
Career: Harrelson was an understudy for Neil Simon's Biloxi Blues on Broadway and appeared in various small productions before gaining the role of dimwitted barman Woody Boyd in Cheers in 1985. His TV commitments made it difficult for him to gain good movie roles, although he did star in the hit White Men Can't Jump in 1992. She was playing in a little league baseball team when she broke her leg sliding into third base. Trying out for a school play sparked her interest in acting. She went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania and the American Conservatory Theater.
Career: Banks had small roles in various films before she raised her profile in The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005). She went on to star in Slither (2006), Meet Bill (2007), Fred Claus (2007), Zack and Miri Make a Porno (2008), W. (2008), The Next Three Days (2010), What to Expect When You're Expecting (2012) and Pitch Perfect (2012). Early-life: Jena was born in Sparks, Nevada, on November 21, 1984. She was raised by her mother Debbie and her mother's girlfriend at the time. She moved a lot as a child and by the time she was nine, she had already lived at 27 different addresses. She took an interest in acting after watching her mother perform in community theatre.
Career: Malone made her professional acting debut in the film Bastard Out of Carolina (1996). Her first leading role on the big screen came in Donnie Darko (2001). In 2006, she made her stage debut on Broadway in Doubt. Her other film credits include Contact (1997), Into the Wild (2007), Pride & Prejudice (2005), Sucker Punch (2011) and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013).
