Hanson's presence in Cornwall raises suspicion and as Demelza wrestles with how best to equip the community to look after itself, Morwenna lends herself to the cause and finds new hope. Geoffrey Charles and Cecily's relationship continues to blossom, but George's sanity continues to deteriorate and Cary struggles under mounting responsibilities. The Enyses look to challenge the county's high society by hosting a ball to introduce the Despards, before disaster strikes and Ross and Ned must spring into action together

Aidan Turner (Actor) .. Ross Poldark
Born: June 19, 1983 in Dublin
Best Known For: Playing the title character in Poldark.
Early-life: Aidan was born in Dublin on June 19, 1983. After graduating from The Gaiety School of Acting in 2004, Aidan appeared in a number of plays, including Romeo and Juliet, and A Cry from Heaven. In 2007, he made his TV debut in an episode of The Tudors.
Career: Turner's TV acting career continued with roles in Desperate Romantics, The Clinic, and Being Human. He played Kili in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy. Since 2015, he has been making a big impression playing the title role in the BBC's revival of period drama Poldark.
Quote: On Poldark: "The great thing about playing Ross is that you can never chicken out of doing anything!"
Trivia: In 2014, Turner won an Empire Award in the Best Male Newcomer category for his performance in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013).
Eleanor Tomlinson (Actor) .. Demelza Poldark

Best Known For: Playing Demelza in the BBC drama Poldark.
Early-life: Eleanor May Tomlinson was born in London on May 19, 1992. She moved with her family to Beverley in East Yorkshire when she was young. She is the daughter of singer Judith Hibbert and actor Malcolm Tomlinson. Her brother, Ross, is also an actor. Eleanor starred in Hollywood movie The Illusionist (2006) and followed this up with a role in British coming-of-age film Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging (2008).
Career: Tomlinson went on to star in the films Alice in Wonderland (2010), Jack the Giant Slayer (2013) and Siberian Education (2013). Her TV credits include The Sarah Jane Adventures, The White Queen, Agatha Christie's Poirot and Death Comes to Pemberley. In 2015, she made a strong impression playing Demelza in popular BBC drama Poldark.
Quote: "I've spent a lot of time watching my mom on stage and a lot of time on set with my dad, so it was very much a part of my growing up."
Trivia: Tomlinson has revealed she was bullied at school after her career as a child actress took off.

Best Known For: A number of TV appearances.
Early-life: Beatrice Edney was born in London on October 23, 1962, the daughter of actress Sylvia Syms. She has a brother, Benjamin. Beatie first made an impression as an actress playing Heather MacLeod in Highlander (1986). She reprised the role in Highlander: Endgame (2000).
Career: Largely known for her TV appearances, Edney has starred in Inspector Morse, Uncle Silas, Prime Suspect: The Lost Child, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, A Touch of Frost, Messiah: The Harrowing, New Tricks, Lost Empires and Lewis. She had a lead role alongside Holly Aird in three series of Channel 4 sitcom Dressing for Breakfast. Her other film credits include A Handful of Dust (1988), Mister Johnson (1990), In the Name of the Father (1993), Mesmer (1994) and In Your Dreams (2008). More recently, she played Prudie in BBC drama Poldark.

Jack Farthing (Actor) .. George Warleggan
Born: October 14, 1985 in London
Best Known For: Playing George Warleggan in Poldark.
Early-life: Born on October 14, 1985 in London. Jack attended Westminster School before going on to study at Oxford University and, eventually, the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
Career: While he was a student, Farthing was cast as Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet at the Globe Theatre. He then took part in other productions there, as well as at the Orange Tree, Richmond and the Royal Court. One of his first TV appearances was in the period drama Dancing on the Edge. He also played Freddie Threepwood from 2013 to 2014 in Blandings. Farthing's other TV credits include Pramface, Silk, Agatha Christie's Poirot and Cilla. He also appeared in the films The Riot Club (2014) and Burn Burn Burn (2015). Since 2015, he has played George Warleggan in Poldark.
Quote: "The fun thing about any character is the unexpected."
Trivia: He won Best Actor at the Los Angeles Movie Awards in 2016 for his role in the short film Waiting for Dawn.

Best Known For: Playing Dr Dwight Enys in Poldark.
Early-life: Born in September 1985 in Romford and raised by his mother. Luke joined the National Youth Theatre after a local drama school teacher funded his audition. He then attended the Central School of Speech and Drama and began to build up a number of stage credits after he graduated.
Career: Norris' earliest TV role was in an episode of The Inbetweeners. He made his feature film debut in the same year in The Duchess (2008). Following this, he appeared in episodes of Skins, Titanic and Our World War. He also appeared in National Theatre productions of The Kitchen and A View from the Bridge. Norris plays Dr Dwight Enys in Poldark.
Quote: "A lot of actors are actors because they prefer to hide behind a character. It's a way of doing self-expression without exposing yourself, because it's somebody else's words, staging, camera or whatever. In my experience, a lot of actors are actually quite introverted."
Trivia: He has written plays since his teen years in case acting didn't work out. Some of his plays have been performed at the Royal Exchange in Manchester, Sheffield Crucible and as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Early-life: Philip Dean Torrens was born on June 2, 1960 in Bromley, Kent. He was educated at Bloxham School in Oxfordshire before going on to study English Literature at Trinity College, Cambridge.
Career: Torrens has appeared in a number of Hollywood films, including Pride and Prejudice (2005), My Week with Marilyn (2011), Anna Karenina (2012), The Danish Girl (2015) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015). He has also appeared in a number of British TV programmes, including Heartbeat, Doctor Who, The Brittas Empire, Green Wing and Silent Witness. More recently, he has had regular roles in Poldark, The Crown, Preacher and Versailles.
Trivia: He has appeared in two biopics about the creator of James Bond, Ian Fleming. These are Ian Fleming: Bondmaker (2005) and Fleming (2014).

Best Known For: The Thick of It.
Early-life: Rebecca Louise Front was born in Stoke Newington on May 16, 1964. She comes from an artistic family - her father is an artist, her mother writes children's stories and her brother Jeremy writes (he and Rebecca often write together, most notably Radio 4's Incredible Women). Rebecca knew she wanted to act from the age of six or seven. After leaving school, she studied at St Hugh's College, Oxford, where she began performing with the Oxford Theatre Group.
Career: Front's comedy career took off with the Radio 4 show The Bobo Girls, the second series of which was produced by Armando Iannucci, with whom she's worked with numerous times since, most notably on The Thick of It. Other comedy projects include On the Hour, The Day Today, Absolute Power, The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer, The Spa and various Alan Partridge projects. Front has also dabbled in drama, with roles in The Rotters' Club, Kavanagh QC, Lewis, Jonathan Creek, and Humans.

Heida Reed (Actor) .. Elizabeth Warleggan
Born: May 22, 1988 in Reykjavik, Iceland
Best Known For: Playing Elizabeth in Poldark.
Early-life: Born Heida Run Sigurdardottir on May 22, 1988 in Reykjavik, Iceland. Heida left Iceland when she was 18 and settled in London when she was 20, where she studied drama at Drama Centre London. She graduated in 2010.
Career: Reed made her feature film debut with a small role in One Day (2011). The next year, she appeared in DCI Banks and starred in the film Vampire Nation (2012). She played Adele Gauthier in the TV series Jo in 2013. Following this, she appeared in Silent Witness and TV mini-series The Lava Field. Reed joined the cast of period drama Poldark in 2015. She plays Elizabeth. Aside from this, she has appeared in the TV series Toast of London and Death in Paradise.
Quote: On acting: "I think you need to believe in your character the way they would themselves if they were real."
Trivia: She was sent to India to film adverts as a teenager and was meant to stay for three months, however she stayed for 18 months after falling in love with the place.
