Elizabeth Estensen (Actor)
Born: August 10, 1949 in Stockton-on-Tees
Best Known For: The Liver Birds and Emmerdale.
Early-life: Born in Stockton-on-Tees on August 10, 1949, Elizabeth first became noticed as an actress during the 1970s in Willy Russell's musical John, Paul, George, Ringo and Bert, and Carla Lane's sitcom The Liver Birds.
Career: During the 1980s, Estensen played villainess T-Bag in the children's series Wonders in Letterland and six sequel series and two Christmas specials. Guest roles followed in Happy Families, The Bill, Casualty, The Upper Hand, A Touch of Frost, Cracker and Last of the Summer Wine before she landed a recurring role as Pam Middleton on Coronation Street. In 1999, she played Daphne Fawkes-Bentley in children's series Mike and Angelo. In the same year, she made her debut in Emmerdale as Diane Lambert, the mother of Bernice Blackstock, a role she continues to play.
Quote: On being awarded an honorary degree: 'When I received the letter saying I'd been nominated for the degree I felt flattered, flushed with pleasure. It was completely unexpected.'
Trivia: In 2004, Estensen was awarded an Honorary Master of Arts degree from the University of Teeside.
