Early-life: Eric Close was born on May 24, 1967, in Staten Island, New York. The eldest of three brothers, he moved from New York with his family to Indiana, Michigan, and finally settled in San Diego when he was seven years old. He was a good student throughout school, eventually graduating from the University of Southern California with a degree in communications in 1989. He was interested in acting from an early age, but did not decide to pursue it as a career until he left college.
Career: His first role as a professional actor was in stage play Rat Songs. After that, he had a number of small, uncredited TV roles before being offered a part in 1992 film American Me. More television and theatre work quickly came in, and in 1997 he won one of the lead parts in TV drama Dark Skies. Since then, Close has appeared in The Magnificent Seven alongside Michael Biehn and Ron `Hellboy" Perlman, sci-fi drama Taken, and was cast as FBI agent Martin Fitzgerald in Without a Trace. More recently, he has played Teddy Conrad in Nashville.

Megan Ward (Actor)
Jamie Denton (Actor)
Born: January 20, 1963 in Nashville, Tennessee
Best Known For: Playing Mike in Desperate Housewives.
Early-life: Born James Denton on January 20, 1963, in Nashville, Tennessee. He's the middle child of three siblings. His father was a dentist who was interested in amateur dramatics. After graduating from high school, Denton attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, gaining a degree in advertising and TV journalism. He didn't try acting until he was 23 when he was cast in a production of Our Town, which was organised as part of the state's bicentennial celebrations.
Career: After spending four years selling advertising space for various TV and radio stations, Denton moved to Chicago to become a professional actor. Following five years of success on stage, he made his TV debut in The Untouchables. He also had small roles in Sliders, JAG and Dark Skies. After a number of little-seen movies, Denton cropped up in Face/Off, but it was a regular part in TV series The Pretender that finally made people sit up and take notice. Acclaimed projects such as Primary Colors, Philly and Threat Matrix followed, before Desperate Housewives catapulted him to international stardom.
Quote: "I never anticipated any kind of attention outside of theatre audience when I got into acting, so all of it now is a little unnerving. However, it beats being on a show nobody's talking about."
Trivia: He modelled for fashion designer Daniel Hechter's 2012 spring-summer advertising campaign.
