Eric Close (Actor)
Born: May 24, 1967 in New York
Best Known For: Without a Trace and Nashville.
Early-life: Eric Close was born on May 24, 1967, in Staten Island, New York. The eldest of three brothers, he moved from New York with his family to Indiana, Michigan, and finally settled in San Diego when he was seven years old. He was a good student throughout school, eventually graduating from the University of Southern California with a degree in communications in 1989. He was interested in acting from an early age, but did not decide to pursue it as a career until he left college.
Career: His first role as a professional actor was in stage play Rat Songs. After that, he had a number of small, uncredited TV roles before being offered a part in 1992 film American Me. More television and theatre work quickly came in, and in 1997 he won one of the lead parts in TV drama Dark Skies. Since then, Close has appeared in The Magnificent Seven alongside Michael Biehn and Ron `Hellboy" Perlman, sci-fi drama Taken, and was cast as FBI agent Martin Fitzgerald in Without a Trace. More recently, he has played Teddy Conrad in Nashville.

Trivia: He is a member of the Brentwood Presbyterian Church.
