Early-life: Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg was born on June 5, 1971, in Boston, Massachusetts. The youngest of nine children, his mother was a bank clerk and his father a delivery driver. He didn't graduate from high school. He had a troubled youth, but at 13 was in the original line-up of the New Kids on the Block. He quit due to their squeaky-clean image, but achieved his own chart success with Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. In the early 1990s, he modelled underwear for Calvin Klein and made a workout video.
Career: Wahlberg's film career kicked off in 1993 with TV movie The Substitute. A year later he made his big-screen debut in flop comedy Renaissance Man. Impressive turns in The Basketball Diaries and Fear made critics realise he was more than just another pop star-turned-actor. It was 1997 drama Boogie Nights that made his name as an actor. By 2000 he was a Hollywood hot property with roles in Three Kings and The Perfect Storm. Although a revamp of Planet of the Apes divided critics, Wahlberg delivered fine turns in The Italian Job remake, Four Brothers, I Heart Huckabees, The Departed and The Fighter. He is also a respected producer, with credits on Entourage, In Treatment, Boardwalk Empire, and How to Make It In America.

Early-life: Born Kathrin Romary Beckinsale in London on July 26, 1973. Her parents are actress Judy Loe and Porridge star Richard Beckinsale, who died when she was just five. She has a half-sister, actress Samantha Beckinsale, and four stepbrothers from her mum's second marriage to Roy Battersby. As a child, she won several writing competitions, but also developed a taste for acting in her teens and made her TV debut in the drama One Against the Wind in 1991. Shortly after filming, she took a place at Oxford University to study Russian and French Literature.
Career: Beckinsale continued to act in films such as Much Ado About Nothing and The Prince of Jutland while studying for her degree, but eventually dropped out of university to concentrate on her career. Shortly afterwards, she starred in British productions Cold Comfort Farm, Emma and Shooting Fish, before moving to Hollywood to make The Last Days of Disco and Brokedown Palace. Although those films were critically well received, it was the 2001 movie Pearl Harbor that made her a star in the US. Since then, she's appeared in Underworld and its sequels, Van Helsing, Serendipity, Vacancy, Click, Aviator and Total Recall.

Giovanni Ribisi (Actor) .. Tim Briggs

Best Known For: A string of TV and film roles.
Early-life: Antonino Giovanni Ribisi was born in Los Angeles on December 17, 1974, to Gay and Albert. He is the twin brother of actress Marissa Ribisi and the brother of voice artist Gina Ribisi. He made his acting TV debut in an episode of Highway to Heaven.
Career: For a number of years, his acting career has been made up of recurring and guest roles on a number of TV shows, including My Two Dads, Married with Children, The Wonder Years, Friends (as Phoebe's brother, Frank), Chicago Hope, Walker, Texas Ranger and My Name Is Earl. His film credits include Gone in 60 Seconds (2000), Saving Private Ryan (1998), Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004), Public Enemies (2009) and Avatar (2009). Recently, he starred in short-lived American sitcom Dads.

Early-life: Benjamin Foster was born on October 29, 1980 in Boston, Massachusetts to restaurant owners Gillian Kirwan and Steven Foster. His brother, Jon, is also an actor. When he was four years old, his family moved to Fairfield, Iowa, following a robbery at their home. He dropped out of high school and moved to Los Angeles when he was 16 years old to pursue acting.
Career: Foster appeared in the TV series Flash Forward between 1996 and 1997. His first film appearance was in Kounterfeit (1996) and his first starring film role was in Get Over It (2001). He has appeared in a number of major films, including Hostage (2005), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), 3:10 to Yuma (2007) and Hell or High Water (2016). His TV credits include Six Feet Under, My Name is Earl and Freaks and Geeks.

Early-life: Lukas Daniel Haas was born in West Hollywood, California, on April 16, 1976 to writer Emily Tracy and artist Berthold Haas. His mother is American and his father emigrated from Germany. He has two brothers, Simon and Nikolai. Lukas was cast as a child in the 1983 nuclear holocaust film Testament. Two years later, he had a prominent role playing an Amish boy alongside Harrison Ford in the critically acclaimed Witness (1985).
Career: Haas received an Emmy nomination for playing a teenager who contracted Aids through contaminated blood in the 1989 TV movie The Ryan White Story. Early-life: Diego Luna Alexander was born in Mexico City on December 29, 1979, to English costume designer Fiona Alexander and Mexican set designer Alejandro Luna. Diego's mother died when he was two years old. From an early age, Diego acted on TV, in films and on the stage.
Career: Luna's big break came in 2001 when he was cast in the critically acclaimed Mexican film Y Tu Mama Tambien. Since then he has appeared in a number of American offerings, including Frida (2002), Vampires: Los Muertos (2002), Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights (2004), Milk (2008) and Elysium (2013). He made his directorial debut with Chavez (2014), which follows American labour leader Cesar Chavez's efforts to organise 50,000 farm workers in California.

Early-life: Jonathan Kimble Simmons was born in Detroit, Michigan, on January 9, 1955 to Patricia and Donald. He has a brother, David, and a sister, Elizabeth. He studied music at the University of Montana and originally made a name for himself in musical theatre, with stints at Montana's Bigfork Summer Theatre and the Seattle Repertory Theatre. In 1997, he made his New York stage debut in off-Broadway musical Birds of Paradise.
Career: Stage roles followed with Captain Hook and Mr Darling, Peter Pan and a revival of Guys and Dolls. His film debut came in The Ref (1994). He made guest appearances in a number of TV shows before his big break in 1997 when he began playing Dr Emil Skoda in Law & Order. He also played a villain in six seasons of crime drama OZ.
