A gangster is brought in to be held at a police station on New Year's Eve. However, the prisoner has information on several corrupt cops who intend to make sure he does not live long enough to get to court. As they lay siege to the station, the officers and prisoners inside must work together to survive. Remake of John Carpenter's 1976 action thriller, starring Ethan Hawke, Laurence Fishburne, Gabriel Byrne and Ja Rule.

Early-life: Ethan Green Hawke was born in Austin, Texas, on November 6, 1970, to Leslie Carole (née Green), a charity worker, and James Steven 'Jim' Hawke, an insurance actuary. After their separation, Hawke lived with his mother. They relocated several times before settling in New York, where Hawke attended the Packer Collegiate Institute in Brooklyn Heights. In high school, Hawke aspired to be a writer, but developed an interest in acting, and appeared in his first film, Explorers, when he was 14.
Career: Hawke's breakthrough role came in 1989's Dead Poets Society. He then appeared in such films as White Fang, A Midnight Clear, and Alive before taking a role in the 1994 Generation X drama Reality Bites, for which he gained critical acclaim. In 1995, he starred in the romantic drama Before Sunrise, and in 2004 featured in its sequel, Before Sunset. In 2001, Hawke was cast as a rookie police officer in Training Day, for which he received a Screen Actors Guild and Academy Award nomination in the Best Supporting Actor category. Other films have included Gattaca, Hamlet, Assault on Precinct 13, and Before the Devil Knows You're Dead. His recent work includes Before Midnight, The Purge, Getaway and Boyhood. Hawke has also maintained a successful stage career.

Best Known For: His role in The Matrix
Early-life: Laurence John Fishburne III was born in Augusta, Georgia, in 1961. His mother, Hattie, was a teacher, and his father was a correctional officer. They divorced when he was a youngster and Laurence was raised in Brooklyn by his mother. He began acting at the tender age of 12, landing a role in the soap opera One Life to Live.
Career: Laurence lied about his age to ensure he got a part in the epic Apocalypse Now, and enjoyed a minor role in Steven Spielberg's acclaimed The Color Purple. Since then, Fishburne has established himself as a character actor of some note - with roles in School Daze, Boys N the Hood, What's Love Got to Do With It? (for which he received an Oscar nomination) and The Matrix films. In 2008, he returned to TV work, accepting a lead role in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, but is also due to appear in the upcoming movies Predators and 4Chosen.

Gabriel Byrne (Actor) .. Marcus Duvall
Born: May 12, 1950 in Dublin
Best Known For: The Usual Suspects.
Early-life: Born Gabriel James Byrne in Dublin on May 12, 1950. His mother was a nurse and his father made barrels for the Guinness factory. At 12 he began studying to join the priesthood, but was expelled from the seminary four years later after being caught smoking in a graveyard. He studied languages and archaeology at Dublin University, but had no real idea what he wanted to do. Byrne then drifted through a number of jobs, including plumber's apprentice, barman, morgue attendant, archaeologist and Spanish teacher, before becoming an actor at age 29.
Career: Byrne started acting at The Focus Theatre and the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, then joined the Royal Court and the National Theatre in London. He landed a part in popular Irish series The Riordans, before making his big-screen debut in 1981 Arthurian epic Excalibur. That brought him to Hollywood's attention, and although some of the films he made in the 1980s had a mixed reception, he went on to star in such well-received movies such as Miller's Crossing, Little Women, The Usual Suspects and Spider. More recently, he gained acclaim for playing a troubled psychiatrist in TV series In Treatment and the period crime drama Quirke.

Born: July 22, 1964 in Bogota, Colombia
Best Known For: Playing Tybalt in Baz Luhrman's Romeo + Juliet.
Early-life: Jonathan Alberto Leguizamo was born in Bogota, Colombia, on July 22, 1964. He emigrated with his family at the age of four to the US and was raised in Queens, New York City. A schoolteacher suggested he go into performing after pointing out he was wasting his considerable talents on merely disrupting lessons. In his late teens he studied drama at New York University, as well appearing numerous times on the comedy club circuit as a stand-up.
Career: One of Leguizamo's early acting roles was a small part in Casualties of War (1989). More movies followed, including Die Hard 2 (1990), Super Mario Bros (1993), Carlito's Way (1993), To Wong Foo (1995), Romeo + Juliet (1996), Summer of Sam (1999) and Moulin Rouge (2001). More recently, he has starred in The Lincoln Lawyer (2011), Kick-Ass 2 (2013), The Counselor (2013), Ride Along (2014) and Chef (2014).

Born: January 19, 1972 in New York
Best Known For: The Sopranos.
Early-life: Born Andrea Donna de Matteo on January 19, 1972, in Queens, New York, the daughter of a playwright and a furniture manufacturer. She has two older brothers and was raised in Aretha Franklin's old apartment. She decided she wanted to be an actress after watching a Broadway production of Cats, during which she was invited to dance on stage with Rum Tum Tugger. She claims to have had a miserable if affluent childhood, and has admitted to being rebellious.
Career: Following a stint at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, de Matteo made her TV debut in a 1996 episode of Swift Justice, the same year she made her first film, 'M' Word. A role in Meet Prince Charming followed before The Sopranos made her a major star in 1999. Her performance as Adriana La Cerva won her an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress (Drama). She starred in Friends spin-off Joey, and featured in the movies Swordfish, The Perfect You, Deuces Wild, Beacon Hill, and the remake of Assault on Precinct 13. She joined the cast of Desperate Housewives for one season in 2009.
