Early-life: Caleb Casey Affleck was born in Falmouth, Massachusetts, on August 12, 1975. He is the younger brother of fellow actor Ben. He attended George Washington University and later transferred to Columbia University in New York but never graduated.
Career: Affleck made his film debut in dark comedy To Die For (1995) and followed this up with box-office flop Race the Sun (1997). He had better luck when he starred with his brother in Chasing Amy (1997) and Good Will Hunting (1997). He went on to star in a string of commercial failures but his fortunes changed when he was part of the ensemble cast in Ocean's Eleven (2001). He reprised his character, Virgil Malloy, in two Ocean's sequels. Affleck's big break came in 2007 when he starred opposite Brad Pitt in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, a role that earned him an Academy Award nomination. Since then, Affleck has starred in The Killer Inside Me (2010), Tower Heist (2011), Out of the Furnace (2013) and Manchester By the Sea (2016).

Early-life: Kate Garry Hudson was born in Los Angeles on April 19, 1979 to actors Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, but she considers her mother's long-time partner actor Kurt Russell to be her real father. Kate made her big-screen debut in Desert Blue (1998).
Career: Hudson's breakthrough came in 2000 when she played rock groupie Penny Lane in Almost Famous, a role that earned her an Academy Award nomination. Since then, she has starred in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003), Raising Helen (2004), You, Me and Dupree (2006), Bride Wars (2009) and Nine (2009). She had a recurring role in the fourth season of Glee.

Best Known For: Playing Max in Dark Angel
Early-life: Jessica Marie Alba was born on April 28, 1981, in Pomona, California, the daughter of a US Air Force worker. As a result, she moved around a lot as a youngster, living in Biloxi, Missouri and Del Rio, before eventually settling with her family in southern California. Decided she wanted to tread the boards at age five and began acting lessons at 12. Nine months later she was signed by an agent. Her brother, Joshua, also acts.
Career: Made her film debut in 1994's Camp Nowhere. Originally cast in a minor role, she was offered a bigger part when another actress dropped out, and the film gave her a chance to make her mark. Her part in children's TV series Flipper and The Secret World of Alex Mack won her fans, who also became hooked on Dark Angel when it first aired in the US in 2000. Early-life: Simon Baker was born in Launceston, Tasmania on July 30, 1969 to English teacher Elizabeth Labberton and groundskeeper/mechanic Barry Baker. Simon also has a sister and three younger half-siblings from his mother's second marriage. Growing up, Simon became an avid surfer (he was state champion at one point) and water polo player. He dabbled with nursing when he was 17 and has also worked in a pub and as a bricklayer.
Career: Baker entered the world of entertainment in 1991 when he appeared in a couple of music videos. He then moved into TV, working in E Street, Home and Away, and Heartbreak High. He has continued to work in various TV series, playing leads in The Guardian and Smith as well as his breakout role of Patrick Jane in The Mentalist. He has featured in supporting and lead roles on the big screen as well, nabbing parts in LA Confidential, Red Planet, The Affair of the Necklace, Land of the Dead, Book of Love, The Devil Wears Prada, Sex and Death 101, The Killer Inside Me and I Give It a Year. He was also part of the winning Rest of the World team at 2010's Soccer Aid match, despite having a penalty saved by England goalkeeper Jamie Theakston.

Best Known For: Playing the US president in Independence Day.
Early-life: William James Pullman was born December 17, 1953 in Hornell, New York. He graduated from Hornell High School in 1971 and attended the State University of New York. He received his Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Massachusetts. Bill worked with theatre companies around New York and Los Angeles, making his mark in hit 1986 comedy Ruthless People.
Career: Mel Brooks thought Bill would be perfect to play the dashing lead in his 1987 spoof Spaceballs, and he went on to star in The Serpent and the Rainbow, Casper and While You Were Sleeping. However, his biggest hit was 1996 blockbuster Independence Day. David Lynch cast him in offbeat drama Lost Highway, and he also shone in cult horror Lake Placid, Ant and Dec comedy Alien Autospy, and Michael Winterbottom's controversial drama The Killer Inside Me. More recent movies include Bringing Up Bobby and Celestina. He received rave reviews for his portrayal of a twisted killer in Torchwood: Miracle Day.
