Hugh Grant (Actor) .. Anthony Campion
Born: September 09, 1960 in Hammersmith, London
Best Known For: Playing bashful-yet-handsome British men.
Early-life: Hugh John Mungo Grant was born in London on September 9, 1960, and grew up in Hammersmith. 'I was a charming little boy, but a bit neurotic,' says Grant. 'I was very pale and small for my age and I used to faint a lot.' His mother was a teacher, his father a carpet salesman-turned-painter. He has an older brother called Jamie. Grant won a scholarship to Oxford in 1979, where he tried his hand at student drama, at one point featuring in Hamlet - performed in Star Trek costumes.
Career: Grant started out as a member of comedy troupe The Jockeys of Norfolk. He appeared in his first film, Privileged, in 1982. Other early projects include The Detective, A Very Peculiar Practice, The Demon Lover and Ladies in Charge. He had higher profile roles in Maurice, The Lair of the White Worm and The Remains of the Day. His big break came when he was cast in Four Weddings and a Funeral in 1994. Big-screen productions since include An Awfully Big Adventure, Sense and Sensibility, Notting Hill, Mickey Blue Eyes, About a Boy, Love Actually and two Bridget Jones films. He could recently be heard in animated film The Pirates!
Quote: 'I just don't believe in love at first sight any more, even though I've based my whole career on the concept. In my experience, power, money and influence always attract the opposite sex. It's something that I've always exploited - with good results.'
Trivia: He is a patron of Pancreatic Cancer Action.
Tara Fitzgerald (Actor) .. Estella Campion
Sam Neill (Actor) .. Norman Lindsay
Born: September 14, 1947 in Omagh, Co Tyrone
Best Known For: Jurassic Park.
Early-life: Nigel John Dermot Neill was born on September 14, 1947, in Omagh, Co Tyrone. His father moved the family to New Zealand's South Island in 1954. He went to boarding school and attended universities at Canterbury and Victoria. After gaining a degree in English Literature he worked with the New Zealand Players and other theatre groups. He was also a film director, editor and scriptwriter for the New Zealand National Film Unit for six years.
Career: Following several little-seen movies, Neill's breakthrough came as Damien in Omen III: The Final Conflict. After the 1983 miniseries Reilly: Ace of Spies, he divided his career between TV work, mainstream dramas and arthouse films, including such projects as Kane and Abel, Plenty, Dead Calm and A Cry in the Dark. Steven Spielberg cast him in Jurassic Park in 1993, the year he was awarded an OBE. He also won critical acclaim for The Piano and Sirens. Other projects include The Horse Whisperer, Restoration, Event Horizon, Jurassic Park III, mini-series Merlin's Apprentice, The Tudors and the BBC's gritty period drama Peaky Blinders. One of the busiest actors in Hollywood, he always has several films in the pipeline.
Quote: 'The pathetic thing about actors is they don't feel valid unless they're acting.'
Trivia: Away from showbusiness, he has his own vineyard, which he claims is a very expensive hobby.
Elle Macpherson (Actor) .. Sheela
Born: March 29, 1963 in Killara, Sydney, Australia
Best Known For: Her perfect figure.
Early-life: Born Eleanor Nancy Gow on March 29, 1964, in Killara, Sydney, Australia, the oldest of four children. She took her now famous surname from her barrister stepfather after her parents' divorce. Her real dad, Peter Gow, once owned a rugby team. She was a tomboy as a child, preferring climbing trees to playing with dolls. Macpherson planned a law career, but became a model after being discovered during a holiday at Aspen, Colorado.
Career: Macpherson made her name as a supermodel, but later turned to acting. Her first major film was Sirens in 1994. Her dedication to the job meant she put on 20lbs to play a 1950s artist's model. While losing the weight, she and fitness expert Karen Voight devised a workout which led to a best-selling aerobics video. She continued her acting career with roles in Jane Eyre, The Edge, Batman and Robin, The Mirror Has Two Faces, and a short-lived role in Friends as Joey's flatmate. She became the host of Britain's Next Top Model in 2010. She has also enjoyed a number of successful business ventures, including a best-selling lingerie line, and is a European Ambassador for RED, an initiative set up by Bono and Bobby Shriver to raise money and awareness for the Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Quote: 'Nudity has never been an issue for me - I'm Australian. It's more of a thing in America. I mean people can buy guns, yet it's against the law to be topless on the beach.'
Trivia: Macpherson is an ambassador for Unicef.
Portia de Rossi (Actor) .. Giddy
Born: January 31, 1973 in Melbourne, Australia
Best Known For: Ally McBeal.
Early-life: Born Amanda Marie Rogers on January 31, 1973, in Melbourne, Australia. She changed her name at 15, and claimed it was the most daring thing she'd ever done. On leaving school she studied law at Melbourne University, and made some extra money by appearing in a commercial. Her acting impressed a casting director who urged her to audition for a role in Sirens. She got the part, playing an artist's model alongside Hugh Grant, Sam Neill, and Elle Macpherson, and was forced to quit her studies as a result.
Career: De Rossi starred in TV series Too Something and the film The Woman in the Moon in 1995. A role in Scream 2 in 1997 introduced her to a new audience, and led to her being cast as Nelle Porter in Ally McBeal. Portia stayed with the show until it ended in 2002. She's also appeared in the films Girl, The Invisibles, Stigmata, Who is Cletis Tout? and The Night We Called It a Day. TV work includes America's Prince: The John F Kennedy Jnr Story, and The Glow. She returned to TV in 2003 in Arrested Development. Her recent work includes Nip/Tuck, and Better Off Ted.
