Early-life:
Heather Deen Locklear was born in Westwood, California, on September 25, 1961. Her cousin is Marla Maples, ex-wife of billionaire Donald Trump. Her father, Bill, is a director of a university careers advisory service, while her mother, Diane, is an administrative assistant at Disney. Studied psychology at college, but left before completing her degree to concentrate on acting after being spotted in class by a casting director. She began taking acting lessons as a result.
Career:
Locklear made her TV debut in Tales of the Unexpected in 1979 and followed it up with guest appearances in such shows as CHiPs, The Fall Guy and Eight is Enough. Her big break came in 1981 when she was cast in Dynasty. She stayed with the glossy soap until it ended in 1989. During her time on Dynasty, she also starred in The Fall Guy and TJ Hooker. Credits since include the soap Melrose Place and TV series Spin City, Scrubs, Two and a Half Men and Boston Legal, as well as films The First Wives Club (1996), Wayne's World 2 (1993) and Uptown Girls (2003). More recently, she has starred in Hot in Cleveland and Franklin & Bash.
