Early-life:
Jimmy Akingbola was born in London in 1978, and honed his skills at the capital's Academy of Live and Recorded Arts. His early productions include the sitcoms Roger Roger, The Crouches, and family comedy Stupid. He appeared in the play Blue/Orange, directed by Kathy Burke, and Bafta-winning drama Longford.
Career:
In 2008, Jimmy attracted attention as PC Neil Parker in BBC One's short-lived cops and robbers drama HolbyBlue. He also won acclaim for his work on Bafta-winning sitcom Rev, and lent a hand with the laughs in Olympics-themed comedy Twenty Twelve. In January 2011, after playing assorted characters over the years, he joined the cast of Holby City. Video game fans will have heard him in Dirt 2, Age of Conan and Dead Space 2. When he's not acting, `Mr Nice" as he's also known is part of Triforce Promotions, a networking and promotions company which aims to bring the London acting community together.
