Early-life: Born in San Saba, Texas, on September 15, 1946. His father worked in the oil industry, his mother spent time as a police officer, teacher and beauty salon owner. They married and divorced twice. After graduating from high school, he attended Harvard College on a scholarship, where one of his room-mates was future American vice-president Al Gore. He was also a star American Football player for the university team.
Career: Jones landed an agent and a role in a Broadway production of A Patriot for Me just 10 days after graduating from Harvard in 1969. A year later he made his film debut in Love Story, based on Erich Segal's novel of the same name. Segal claimed he based the lead character of Oliver (played by Ryan O'Neal) on Jones and Gore. Jones then spent four years in soap opera One Life to Live. The film Coal Miner's Daughter made critics sit up and notice him in 1980. Acclaimed performances in Lonesome Dove, The Fugitive, JFK and Men in Black followed. Other well-received projects include No Country for Old Men, In the Valley of Elah (for which he received an Oscar nomination), Lincolm and The Homesman.

Best Known For: Country singer-songwriter and actor.
Early-life: Dwight David Yoakam was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on October 23, 1956 to Ruth and David. He was raised in Columbus, Ohio. His first taste of acting came in school plays. He also sang and played guitar in local garage bands. After dropping out of Ohio State University, he moved to Nashville in 1977 to pursue a career in music.
Career: After struggling to make his mark in Nashville with his brand of hip honky tonk music, Yoakam moved to Los Angeles. He performed his own songs in rock and punk rock clubs around LA rather than traditional country venues. His recording debut was the self-financed EP Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc. It was released later, with additional tracks, as his major-label debut album in 1986 and topped the Billboard country chart. Since then, Yoakam has released a number of popular albums. He made his big-screen debut as an actor in Red Rock West (1993). His movie credits also include Sling Blade (1996), The Newton Boys (1998), Panic Room (2002), Hollywood Homicide (2003), Crank (2006) and its sequel Crank High Voltage (2009) and Dirty Girl (2010). In 2000, he co-wrote, starred in and wrote the soundtrack for South of Heaven, West of Hell. On the small screen, he has appeared in Ellen, Wilfred and Under the Dome.

Best Known For: Mad Men.
Early-life: January Kristen Jones was born in Brookings, South Dakota, on January 5, 1978 to Karen and Marvin. She has two sisters, Jacey and Jina. After graduating from high school, she moved to New York to become a model. Her entry into acting was through TV commercials. Her first acting role came in the independent movie All the Rage (1999). A small role followed in teen thriller The Glass House (2001).
Career: Jones had supporting roles in Bandits (2001), Anger Management (2003) and American Wedding (2003). Her big break came in 2007 when she began playing Betty Draper in acclaimed AMC TV drama Mad Men. The role has brought her two Golden Globe nominations. Her other film credits include Unknown (2011), X-Men: First Class (2011) and Sweetwater (2013).

Early-life: Melissa Chessington Leo was born in New York on September 14, 1960 to Peggy and Arnold. She made her acting debut in 1984 in the soap All My Children, for which she won a Daytime Emmy Award.
Career: Leo went on to make guest appearances in a number of popular TV shows, including The Equalizer, Miami Vice, The Young Riders, Veronica Mars, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Law & Order. She had recurring roles on Homicide: Life on the Street, Mildred Pierce and Treme. Her film credits include 21 Grams (2003), Frozen River (2008), The Fighter (2010), Prisoners (2013), Oblivion (2013), The Angriest Man in Brooklyn (2014) and The Equalizer (2014). She won an Academy Award for her role in The Fighter.
