Stephen Mulhern (Host)

Born: April 04, 1977 in Minehead

Best Known For: Presenting various ITV shows.

Early-life: Stephen Daniel Mulhern was born in Minehead on April 4, 1977 to Maureen and Christopher. He has two older brothers and a younger sister. He started to learn about magic when he was 14 and his first break as an entertainer came when he performed his magic show at Butlins when he was 17. It led to him being offered a job as a Redcoat at Minehead. His first taste of TV began in 1998 as a CITV presenter. He went on to co-host Finger Tips with Fearne Cotton and Naomi Wilkinson, children's show Tricky TV and Holly & Stephen's Saturday Showdown with Holly Willoughby.

Career: Mulhern moved on to more adult fare in 2006 when he hosted ITV2 spin-off Dancing on Ice: Defrosted. Since then, he has been involved with ITV2 spin-off Britain's Got More Talent, game show Magic Numbers, The Big Quiz, Big Star's Little Star and Sunday Side Up. Since 2013, he has presented a revived version of ITV game show Catchphrase. He has also appeared in a number of pantomimes. In 2012, he began co-presenting a Sunday breakfast show on Heart radio alongside Emma Willis.

Quote: 'I wanted to be the new Paul Daniels,' he says. 'I wanted to have that show where the best and biggest acts from around the world would do a couple of tricks and I'd introduce them.'

Trivia: Mulhern has released a number of children's magic sets, toured the UK with Stephen's Mega Mad Magic Show and performed his magic act in front of the Queen at a Royal Variety Performance.

Mark Charnock (Contestant)

Born: March 23, 1968 in Bolton

Best Known For: Playing Marlon Dingle in Emmerdale.

Early-life: Born in Bolton, Lancashire, on March 23, 1968, Mark was educated at Canon Slade School. He won a place at Hull University, but gave up his degree to pursue a career in acting, going on to join the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art.

Career: Mark's first screen role was in an episode of 2point4 Children, and he had a bit part in Coronation Street before he found fame in Emmerdale. Prior to landing the role of Marlon, he starred alongside Derek Jacobi as the bumbling Brother Oswin in Cadfael. He first appeared in the Yorkshire-based soap in 1996 and has since gone on to become one of its most popular characters. He won a British Soap Award in 2004.

Quote: 'I'm lucky really. I play a character than gets a lot of comedy and I also, every now and then, get some great drama. So my artistic thirst is quenched by the show. But I never plan beyond the next contract. It's presumptuous.'

Trivia: Mark and actor Dale Meeks appeared as the Blues Brothers in Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes and they won.

Janet Street-Porter (Contestant)

Born: December 27, 1946 in Brentford

Best Known For: Her unique appearance and voice.

Early-life: Born Janet Vera Ardern on December 27, 1946, in London. She had a younger sister, Pat, and claims to have disliked her parents, describing her childhood as miserable. In her autobiography, she writes of her outrageous teenage behaviour and how she had two abortions before reinventing herself after leaving home. She studied architecture for two years in the mid-1960s but switched to journalism and by her early twenties was an established name on Fleet Street.

Career: Street-Porter's first job was as a writer for a girls' magazine. She then worked on the Daily Mail and various glossies. In 1973, she featured on LBC Radio, before hosting TV's The London Weekend Show. Eight years later she became a producer, then became responsible for around 35 series at the BBC. In 1995, she helped set up short-lived TV station L!ve TV. In 2004, she took part in I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! She's also appeared in So You Think You Can Teach, So You Think You Can Nurse, Deadline and as Gordon Ramsay's roving reporter on the The F Word.

Trivia: Away from TV, Street-Porter has been president of the Ramblers' Association and written several books.
