Samuel Robertson (Actor) .. Adam Barlow
Alan Halsall (Actor) .. Tyrone Dobbs
Born: August 11, 1982 in Walkden, Greater Manchester
Best Known For: Playing Tyrone in Coronation Street.
Early-life: Alan David Halsall was born in Salford, Greater Manchester, on August 11, 1982, the son of a council worker and a special needs teacher. He enjoyed drama at school, but never thought of turning professional until the age of 13, when a friend dared him to audition for the kids' drama Children's Ward. Alan was so sure he'd be unsuccessful, he didn't even bother telling his parents, who were subsequently stunned when Granada TV called up to offer their son a job. One of his co-stars on the series was Samia Smith, who would go on to play his girlfriend Maria in Coronation Street.
Career: Halsall followed up Children's Ward with appearances in Heartbeat, Hetty Wainthrop Investigates, The Cops and Queer as Folk, before winning the part of Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street in 1998, at the age of just 16. He has admitted he wasn't fully prepared for the fame that came with appearing in the soap, but says he loves being a part of it. He's become one of Weatherfield's most popular residents. Away from acting, Halsall is a keen amateur footballer and says one of his proudest moments was being congratulated by Pele for a goal he scored in a charity match.
