Early-life:
Julianne Alexandra Hough was born in Orem, Utah, on July 20, 1988 to Marianne and Bruce. She is the youngest of five children and her brother Derek is also a professional dancer. She has three older sisters, Sharee, Marabeth and Katherine. Julianne began dancing competitively at the age of nine. When she was 10, she was sent with her brother to London to live and study with their coaches, Corky and Shirley Ballas. Julianne and Derek went on to attend the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. In her late teens, she returned to America and studied at the Las Vegas Academy and Alta High School.
Career:
Hough made a name for herself as a professional dancer after winning two seasons of Dancing with the Stars in 2007. In the same year, she released a country music single for charity. Her debut album was released in 2008. Since then, she has made the move into film with roles in Burlesque (2010), Footloose (2011), Rock of Ages (2012), Safe Haven (2013) and Paradise (2013).
