Career: At the age of 11, Spears was finally hired to appear on the Disney Channel's New Mickey Mouse Club, which also welcomed superstars-in-waiting Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake. She became a global sensation in 1998 when her debut single ...Baby One More Time, taken from the namesake album, became a huge success. Follow-up album Oops!... I Did It Again was also hugely successful, not least because of the title track. She went on to appear in the film Crossroads, scored two more UK chart-toppers in 2004 with Toxic and Everytime. In recent years her musical career has been overshadowed by her increasingly erratic behaviour. She has continued to record and her eighth studio album will be released in December 2013. Spears also had a brief stint as a judge on the US version of The X Factor.
