In the 1840s, renowned but overlooked fossil hunter Mary Anning lives a near-solitary existence with her mother in Lyme Regis. One day, amateur palaeontologist Roderick Murchison arrives in her shop with his invalid wife, asking to be allowed to learn her hunting techniques. When he departs on an expedition, he leaves Charlotte in Lyme,and asks Mary to keep an eye on his infirm wife. Historical biopic, starring Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan

Early-life: Kate Elizabeth Winslet was born on October 5, 1975, in Reading. Acting is in her blood. Both her parents, Roger and Sally, tread the boards, her maternal grandparents ran the Reading Repertory Theatre, and an uncle appeared in the original West End production of Oliver! Kate's two sisters also act; her brother is the only sibling not to enter showbiz. Kate stole the show in a series of plays before the age of 11 and she studied at Maidenhead's Redroofs Theatre School.
Career: Winslet started out on TV, with roles in Casualty and The Dark Season, but it was her film debut in Peter Jackson's acclaimed 1994 drama Heavenly Creatures that set her on the road to success. She gained her first Oscar nod for Sense and Sensibility a year later, and stayed with period pieces for Jude and Hamlet. In 1997 came James Cameron's Titanic, which gained her another Academy Award nomination. Since then, Winslet has featured in an array of films, including Hideous Kinky, Enigma, Iris, The Life of David Gale, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Finding Neverland. She finally won an Oscar for 2008's The Reader. Her recent films include Labor Day and Divergent.

Saoirse Ronan (Actor) .. Charlotte Murchison
Born: April 12, 1994 in New York
Best Known For: Atonement, The Lovely Bones and The Grand Budapest Hotel.
Early-life: Saoirse Una Ronan was born in New York on April 12, 1994. She moved to County Carlow, Ireland, when she was three and holds dual Irish-American citizenship. Her father is the actor Paul Ronan and she often accompanied him on sets when he was working. Saoirse made her TV debut in 2003 in RTE medical drama The Clinic.
Career: Ronan received good reviews for her performance in Atonement (2007), a small-budget film that grossed more than $129million worldwide and earned her an Academy Award nomination. She followed this up with the straight-to-DVD romantic comedy I Could Never Be Your Woman (2007). Since then, she has starred in a number of successful movies, including City of Ember (2008), The Lovely Bones (2009), The Way Back (2010), Hanna (2011), Byzantium (2012) and The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014).

Best Known For: Secrets & Lies and a string of TV roles.
Early-life: Claire Louise Rushbrook was born in Hitchin on January 2, 1971. She has an older brother. She went on to study acting at Rose Bruford College and worked mainly on the stage for five years before making the move into film and TV. In her first TV credit, she played a policewoman in an episode of Casualty.
Career: In 1996, Rushbrook had a supporting role in Mike Leigh's acclaimed film Secrets & Lies. Her TV credits include Touching Evil, The Sins, Linda Green, Carrie & Barry, Doctor Who, Inspector George Gently, Mutual Friends, Collision, The Fades, and Whitechapel. More recently, she has starred in Home Fires and My Mad Fat Diary. On the big screen, she has made appearances in Under the Skin (1997), Spice World (1997), Plunkett & Macleane (1999) and Enid (2009).
