Melinda Messenger (Contestant)
Born: February 23, 1971 in Swindon
Best Known For: Being a Page Three model
Early-life: Melinda Jayne Messenger was born in Swindon on February 23, 1971. Her parents divorced when she was five. After leaving school, she worked for Britannia Airways as a flight attendant for six months. She then joined a marketing company, rising to the position of customer services manager. However, Melinda decided she wanted to be a model and was advised to have her breasts enlarged. A campaign for a double glazing company led to national exposure.
Career: Messenger's racy photoshoots for tabloid newspapers made her a firm favourite with male readers. The Sun poached her and named her 'the girl of the Thrillenium', until its readers voted to ban surgically enhanced models from Page 3. Her TV career began in 1997 when she worked on Channel 4's Eurotrash. A year later, she joined ex-EastEnders actor Leslie Grantham to present Five's cult game show Fort Boyard. In 2002, she came third on Celebrity Big Brother and was a contestant on Dancing on Ice in 2009. Other projects include Live From Studio Five and Cowboy Builders. In early 2014, she was one of the celebrity contestants on Channel 4's reality series The Jump.
Quote: 'I think I've had to work twice as hard as anyone else because there's a lot of prejudice, and people think 'she's a glamour model so she's this type of person' so I've always had to battle that sort of prejudice.'
Trivia: Messenger has performed in a number of pantomimes.
Dominic Littlewood (Contestant)
Born: March 29, 1970 in Southend-on-Sea
Best Known For: Being a consumer champion on The One Show and Cowboy Builders.
Early-life: Born in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, on March 29, 1965. At the age of 10, he was diagnosed as having Type 1 diabetes - he's subsequently worked with diabetes charities. He worked as the manager of an electrical shop in Essex before becoming a car salesman, setting up his own business during the 1980s - he credits working on 99 per cent commission for honing his selling skills. The job also led to his big TV break when in 2002 he was asked to coach a vicar in the art of becoming a second-hand car salesman for the Channel 4 series Faking It.
Career: Soon after his TV debut, Littlewood became a full-time presenter working on shows such as Right Car, Wrong Car, To Buy Or Not to Buy, Beat the Burglar and Holiday. In 2006, he even got his own series, Don't Get Done, Get Dom, in which he advised members of the public on the best ways to get a good deal. In 2007, he competed in the fifth series of Strictly Come Dancing, and continues to be in demand on TV, fronting series including Cowboy Builders, Saints and Scroungers and Dom's on the Case. He is also a regular on The One Show.
Quote: 'The truth is that Brits don't like complaining.'
Trivia: He once broke his C5 vertebra in his neck in an accident in Australia.
