Early-life:
Monica was born in the mid-1970s in Samoa, and raised in New Zealand. She has four brothers and a sister. Monica trained to be a chef in New Zealand and in 1999 she moved to London to work with two-star Michelin chef Michel Roux Jr at his restaurant Le Gavroche.
Career:
Galetti worked her way through the kitchen ranks at Le Gavroche to become Michel's sous chef. In 2009, she began assisting Michel on MasterChef: The Professionals, and in 2011, she was elevated to a permanent position on the judging panel. She has a reputation on the show for being firm but fair.
