Richard Osman (Host)
Born: November 28, 1970 in Billericay
Best Known For: Pointless.
Early-life: Richard Thomas Osman was born in Billericay on November 28, 1970, but grew up in West Sussex. He was raised by his single mum after his father left home - they didn't see each other for 20 years. Richard studied politics and sociology at Trinity College, Cambridge, where his future Pointless colleague Alexander Armstrong was reading English literature. He claims that one of his proudest moments came when his mum and grandfather watched his graduation.
Career: Osman has worked behind the scenes as an executive producer on a number of TV programmes, including Deal or No Deal, 8 Out of 10 Cats, and 10 O'Clock Live. As the UK creative director of TV production company Endemol, he pitched the quiz Pointless to the BBC. As a way of explaining the rules, he played the co-host during a run-through. He was asked to do the role for real when the show was commissioned. Pointless started on BBC Two in 2009 and was an immediate hit. It quickly made the switch to BBC One. Since being in the spotlight on Pointless, he has made guest appearances on QI, Have I Got News for You and Would I Lie to You? He also guest presented an episode of The One Show alongside Alex Jones.
Quote: 'Whenever I turn up to pub quizzes now, I see people going: ‘Urgh, that's the guy who knows everything.''
Trivia: He is the younger brother of Mat Osman, bassist with Suede, and suffers from nystagmus, a condition that results in uncontrolled movement of the eyes.

Best Known For: Playing Lola in EastEnders.
Early-life: Born Danielle Amy Louise Harold in Lewisham on May 30 1992, she worked for a catering company when she left school but always wanted to be an actress.
Career: Harold was one of the youngsters featured on Jamie's Dream School, a reality show fronted by chef Jamie Oliver that offered 20 teenagers with few qualifications a second chance at learning. After appearing on the show, Harold won a place at the National Youth Theatre. She auditioned for several soap operas before landing the part of Lola in EastEnders in 2011.
Quote: 'A lot of girls in my school were very loud so I had to speak up to have my voice heard.'
Trivia: Harold lost a year of school due to illness.
Katharine Merry (Panellist)
Robert Webb (Panellist)
Born: September 29, 1972 in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire
Best Known For: His partnership with David Mitchell.
Early-life: Robert Patrick Webb was born on September 29, 1972, in Boston, Lincolnshire. He was educated at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School in Horncastle. While Webb was in the lower sixth form preparing for his A-levels, his mother died of breast cancer. Aged 20, he went to Robinson College, Cambridge, where he studied English and was a member of the Footlights. He met David Mitchell during an audition for a Footlights production of Cinderella in 1993.
Career: Mitchell and Webb put together their first project in January 1995, a show about the First World War. From this, the duo were given the chance to write for Alexander Armstrong and Ben Miller and for series two of sketch show Big Train. In 2001, they were commissioned to write a sketch show of their own, entitled The Mitchell and Webb Situation, which ran for six episodes on the now defunct cable channel Play UK. The pair's big break came in 2003, with starring roles in the Channel 4 sitcom Peep Show, which led to movie projects. In solo work, Webb has appeared in offbeat sitcom The Smoking Room, and the film Confetti. Other projects include Fresh Meat, Our Men, Ambassadors and Marple.
Quote: 'When somebody says 'Do you want to do some funny ads for not many days in the year and be paid more than you would be for an entire series of Peep Show?' the answer, obviously, is, 'Yeah, that's fine''.
Trivia: He won the charity event Let's Dance for Comic Relief in 2009.
