Lindsey Coulson
(Actor)
.. Stella Drake
Best Known For:
Playing Carol Jackson in EastEnders.
Early-life:
Born in 1960 in north London. The middle child of three, her mother, Mavis, was a social worker. Her father, George, had his own civil engineering business before retiring. After leaving school, Lindsey became a hairdresser, but at 21 gained a place at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. She continued hairdressing to make ends meet after completing drama training.
Career:
Initially struggled to gain decent roles and her early projects included theatre work and TV shows such as Boris Bitty's Brand New Parents and A Bear Behind. Her life turned around when she landed the role of bitter mother-of-four Carol Jackson in EastEnders in 1993. For four years she was in the thick of things thanks to strong storylines, but left in 1997. She then took on a very different role - as a doctor - in miniseries Out of Hours in 1998, and a year later returned to Albert Square for 18 weeks. Since then, Coulson has appeared in several TV shows to great acclaim. In 2010, she returned to Walford to reprise her role as Carol.
Quote:
"I know in this business you've got to sell yourself, but the intrusion into your private life when you're in a soap is mind-blowing."
Trivia:
Coulson married her on-screen daughter Patsy Palmers brother Harry Harris in 2002.

in
Lancaster
Best Known For:
8 Out of 10 Cats.
Early-life:
Jon Joel Richardson was born on September 26, 1982, in Lancaster. He has a sister. His parents split up when he was very young, and he was raised by his mother and her long-term partner; he also maintained a relationship with his father. Jon's teachers often noted what a good sense of humour he had on his school reports, and although he dreamed of being a comedian, didn't think it would be possible. He studied Spanish and Portuguese at university but dropped out, became a chef, then decided to give stand-up a go.
Career:
In 2003, Richardson won his heat of the BBC New Talent Comedy Search, and a year later did well in the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year competition and J20 Last Laugh Comedy Search. Encouraged by these successes and kind words from Jasper Carrott and Dave Spikey for a performance at the Criterion Theatre in London, his confidence grew. More stand-up followed, including appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He went on to feature on numerous radio shows before moving into TV. Richardson appeared on Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Have I Got News For You before becoming a team captain on 8 Out of 10 Cats. He's since published his first book, It's Not Me, It's You! and taken part in various documentaries.
Quote:
"My big thing is that you should be comfortable on your own in the dark. There's nothing eating away at you."
Trivia:
Richardson fronted the documentary A Little Bit OCD in which he examined the lives of OCD sufferers while trying to work out if he also had the condition. It won a Mind Award for best documentary in 2013.

Jason Merrells
(Actor)
.. Jack Rimmer
Born:
November 02, 1968
in
London
Best Known For:
Cutting It and Emmerdale.
Early-life:
Born on November 2, 1968, in Wanstead, Essex. Jason developed a passion for art, writing and acting from an early age. However, his brother Simon had dropped out of the acting profession, so when arts graduate Jason later expressed an interest in the same career, his parents were worried he was making the wrong move, but eventually backed him. His dad designed the posters for a one-man show, and his mum used to pretend to be his agent to get him bookings. Merrells also cut hair as a student, little knowing it would come in handy for a later role.
Career:
Became a familiar face in 1994 as Matt Hawley in Casualty, but quit after three years in the role. He went on to appear in episodes of Thief Takers, The Bill, Fat Friends, Queer as Folk and Clocking Off. However, it was as Gavin Ferraday in BBC One drama Cutting It that he sent pulses racing. His student days snipping hair were boosted by five days' intensive training. He had the lead role in short-lived medical drama Sweet Medicine, before making appearances in Where the Heart Is and Murder City. Between 2006 and 2008 he played headmaster Jack Rimmer in Waterloo Road. In 2010, he made his debut in Emmerdale, playing Declan Macey.
Quote:
"Love scenes are quite a difficult technical exercise, but they're also slightly hysterical."
Trivia:
He has directed episodes of River City for BBC Scotland.
