Beechgrove Garden

With the days getting shorter and the nights cooler George Anderson and Calum Clunie are at the stage of reviewing some of the planting projects they started in the Spring at Beechgrove. A new addition was Calum's family plot, based on the size of a standard garden of a new-build property, this week he is harvesting and assessing just how productive that area has been. George and Calum will be in the trials bed and comparing how the various club root resistant varieties of brassica have performed after that infection was found in this area of the garden. The pair will also be visiting the grass garden that was completely overhauled and replanted at the start of the series. There are visits to Beechgrove regulars Jenna McDonald at her allotment in Perth and Colin Crosbie's plot just outside Dumfries, as well as the week's handy hints
