Early-life:
Dev Patel was born in Harrow, London, on April 23, 1990. His first acting role was in a school production of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. He wanted to become an actor from an early age and excelled in drama at GCSE level, scooping top marks for a touching portrayal of a child caught up in the Beslan siege of 2004. Dev's mother made him take up martial arts in a bid to burn some of his excess energy. Dev took to the sport like a duck to water and participated in the 2004 AIMAA Championships in Dublin.
Career:
Patel shot to prominence after being cast as sex-obsessed Muslim teenager Anwar in Channel 4 comedy drama Skins. The show became an overnight hit with viewers and won the Rose d'Or for drama in 2008 and scooped the Philips Audience Award at the Baftas a year later. The entire Skins cast was re-cast at the end of series two, and Dev beat hundreds of actors to be cast in the lead role of Danny Boyle's heartwarming drama Slumdog Millionaire. The film went on to win a staggering eight Academy Awards in 2009. He went on to appear in M Night Shyamalan's 2010 blockbuster The Last Airbender and 2012 comedy drama The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, alongside Judi Dench, Bill Nighy and Maggie Smith. Since 2012, he has starred in HBO drama The Newsroom.

Nicole Mary Kidman was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on June 20, 1967, but spent three years in Washington DC before her parents moved to their native Sydney, Australia. Her father was a biochemist and clinical psychologist, her mother a nursing instructor. Her younger sister, Antonia, is a TV presenter in Australia. Nicole took ballet lessons, but eventually turned to acting, and received a letter of praise and encouragement from Jane Campion, who saw her in a play and later directed her in The Portrait of a Lady in 1996.
Career:
At 16, Kidman made her TV and film debuts in Young Talent Time and BMX Bandits respectively. Roles in Bush Christmas and A Country Practice followed. In 1989, Dead Calm and miniseries Bangkok Hilton brought her international acclaim, and launched her career in America. Future husband Tom Cruise cast her in Days of Thunder, while To Die For proved she was more than just a pretty face. Since then, she's appeared in a number of Hollywood movies, including Eyes Wide Shut, Moulin Rouge!, The Others and The Hours (for which she won an Oscar). More recent films include Rabbit Hole, The Paperboy, The Railway Man, Grace of Monaco, Before I Go to Sleep and Paddington.

Patricia Rooney Mara was born in New York on April 17, 1985 to Kathleen and Timothy. Her mother's family founded the Pittsburgh Steelers and her father's family founded the New York Giants. She has two brothers, Daniel and Conor, and a sister, Kate, who is also an actress. She attended George Washington University for a year before transferring to New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where she studied psychology, international social policy and nonprofits. She made her professional acting bow in a 2006 edition of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Career:
Mara made her film debut in Dream Boy (2008). Her first high-profile role came in the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010). Since then, she has starred in The Social Network (2010), The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011), Side Effects (2013), Her (2013) and Carol (2015).
