Early-life:
Lily Luahana Cole was born on December 27, 1987 in Torquay, Devon to artist and writer Patience Owen and fisherman and boat builder Chris Cole. She was raised in London by her mother. Lily was educated at Hallfield Primary School, the Sylvia Young Theatre School and St Marylebone School. She got A levels in English, politics and philosophy and ethics at Latymer Upper School. Lily studied for a history of art degree at King's College, Cambridge and graduated in 2011 with a double first.
Career:
Cole was signed to Storm Models in 2003 and went on to win Model of the Year at the 2004 British Fashion Awards. She has modelled for such designer brands as Chanel, DKNY, Jean Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen and Louis Vuitton. Cole made her acting debut in the comedy film St Trinian's (2007). Her first leading role was as Valentina in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009). Since then, she has appeared in such films as There Be Dragons (2011), Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) and Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie (2016). She also appeared in an episode of Doctor Who in 2011 and as Elizabeth I in a TV mini-series documentary about the queen in 2017.
